Enes Kanter Freedom will not be able to attend Chicago Sky home games anymore after they banned him for stepping towards and confronting veteran guard Natasha Cloud.

The incident took place during their August 23rd clash against the Indiana Fever. The former Boston Celtics star claimed he had arrived there to support his ‘friend’ Sophie Cunningham.

He sat courtside, which meant he was close enough to yell at players. As per Sky, the 34-year-old was chirping at Cloud throughout. Then, when she retaliated, Kanter Freedom got up from his chair, stepped past the media line, spread his arms out, and continued to jaw.

Instantly, arena security stepped in and led the former NBA center out of the arena. He believes that it is a violation of the WNBA’s own fan conduct policy, as the security did not issue him a warning before escorting him out.

While speaking with Sean Hannity on FOX News, the former third-overall pick reiterated that the league’s own policy stipulates that Natasha Cloud was in the wrong to walk towards him and hurl curses. Therefore, he is stepping up his activism by taking the legal path.

We might be looking into a lawsuit for sure because this is unacceptable.

Enes Kanter Freedom also added that his legal team will take action against the Sky and its owner, Michael Alter, for banning him without a sufficient explanation for his ejection.

Fans tear into Enes Kanter Freedom

When Enes Kanter Freedom was thrown out of Wintrust Arena, many knew from the video that he did step past the media line. That is where players operate when sending in inbound passes.

The former Oklahoma City Thunder player may claim that he did not step on the court, but getting past the media line is enough grounds to be removed. Moreover, teams have the authority to do what they want on the premises they lease.

Fans believe that with this threat to sue, Kanter Freedom is pushing it too far. When he declared for the draft, he was making a point. But now, it is clear that he wants to take advantage of the attention. They flamed him on social media; examples are below.

Enes Kanter Freedom might be confident that he can win this battle against the WNBA. However, the league and its parent company, the NBA, have a colossal group of lawyers to lean on. It is unlikely that this will end well for him.

Cameron Brink slams Enes Kanter Freedom for trying to use WNBA for relevance

While Natasha Cloud’s actions were a clear indication of what players think about Enes Kanter Freedom, there is also no doubt that she gave him the attention he was looking for.

Had she not reacted, the game would have concluded, and this discourse would not have drawn out to this extent. Of course, he would have tried it again, as he is looking for attention towards his activism. That is what Cameron Brink summed up when asked about him.

I don’t even know what his name is. He’s stupid. He’s just trying to stay relevant… Taking something that is a non-issue right now to use it for clickbait, for views, for likes, and then targeting a vulnerable community is just really low.

Cameron Brink told reporters

The 24-year-old has grown up around the NBA, since her godfather and god-cousins are deeply rooted in the sport and have made a massive name for themselves. Her stating that she does not even know who Enes Kanter Freedom is sums up what she said about him trying to become relevant.
