Chris Evert was angry when she saw fake quotes and photos of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce that claimed the two had ended their marriage. According to the fake news, the Bad Blood singer decided to end her marriage after seeing pictures of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end with another woman.

The power couple started dating in 2023 and got engaged in 2025. Then in July this year, they tied the knot in a grand ceremony in New York.

Recently, a user on X shared AI-generated images of Kelce walking with a woman during a date night in New York City. In one picture, Kelce is seen covering his face with his hand.

Then another user on X posted fake quotes from the Anti-Hero singer, claiming she and Kelce had divorced. And when Evert came across the fake news, she was greatly disappointed, writing, “You people..[angry emoji].“

Back in 2015, Evert revealed that her favorite Swift songs are We Are Never Getting Back Together and Blank Space. The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion also called The Fate of Ophelia singer “awesome” for giving Kelce “space” after the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game in 2024.

Chris Evert defends Coco Gauff after China Open controversy

The Wuhan Open kicks off on October 12. Reigning champion Coco Gauff has pulled out of the event because of fatigue. Her decision came in the aftermath of the China Open controversy.

During her third-round match against 16-year-old home favorite Sun Xinran, Gauff raised her arm during a rally because she saw the advertising boards around the court flicker. Had she not stopped the play, Xinran would have won the point.

Following the video review, the point was replayed, which Gauff won. She eventually went on to end the match in her favor. Xinran, following the incident, was seen in tears.

The incident sparked backlash, and Gauff was called a “cheater” and a “thief”. But what affected her more than these allegations was the racist abuse.

Hey everyone, you can dislike me or disagree about what happened without being racist. The amount of racist comments/dms I’ve received in the last few hours is insane. Lastly, I’m not a cheater or a thief.

Gauff lost her fourth-round match to Elise Mertens easily and admitted that the criticism she faced later was “draining”. But many also rushed to her defense, with Gauff also finding a supporter in Chris Evert.

Why are the ‘haters’ attacking @CocoGauff? She did everything within the rules. Honestly, Coco is the most genuine, thoughtful, humble human being you’ll ever find. She is loved by everyone in the Tennis world. It’s really disturbing to see her going through this turmoil. #Kindness.

Gauff has won just one title so far this season. After losing the Miami Open to Aryna Sabalenka and the Italian Open to Elina Svitolina, the two-time Grand Slam singles champion defeated Jessica Pegula in the Cincinnati Open, ending her title drought (her first title since the 2025 Wuhan Open).

World No.1 Elena Rybakina will also not be seen in action in Wuhan due to a foot injury. Sabalenka, who is dealing with a slump in form, will compete as the first seed.

The Belarusian ace last clinched a title at the Miami Open and, since then, has played just one final, at the US Open, losing the match to Rybakina. In Wuhan, the four-time Grand Slam singles champion is a three-time winner. Before arriving in Wuhan, Sabalenka suffered a third-round exit in Beijing.
