The Golden State Warriors’ season depends on the health of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and last season’s trade acquisition, Kristaps Porzingis.
Butler is on track to return later this season, and Curry has learned enough from the last two campaigns to manage his body. The organization has also drafted and signed enough younger players to enable the superstar to take a breather.
Green is generally reliable, unless he loses his cool and throws a fit. That leaves the Latvian big man, who has played in just 15 games for the Bay Area franchise since arriving before the 2026 trade deadline.
In 2025, the former fourth-overall pick was diagnosed with POTS, a neurological disease that can be triggered by viral infections. That was when he was still with the Atlanta Hawks.
When Porzingis missed games with the Warriors, many felt that POTS, along with other unnamed diseases, affected the 2024 champion. Even though most social media discourse can run wild in imagination, it seems that some of it went so far that it affected the 7’2″ center.
I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I’m in the best hands. So everyone can relax now and I don’t have hiv or aids.

This was the 31-year-old clarifying that he has no STDs after those on social media threw out assumptions that he was struggling with them for the past year and a half.
Fans have absurd reactions to Kristaps Porzingis’ clarification
Kevin Durant is the master at handling trolls on social media. He does it with a deftness and wit that has left many backtracking or trying to double down on their claims.
But he is not affected by it, and never tries to explain something when he knows the end user may not understand. But in this instance, social media users understood that Kristaps Porzingis was bothered by the narratives.
They wondered why he would pay heed to such absurd claims in the first place, as many of them are just wild assumptions. By clarifying, fans felt that he made it worse for himself. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Kristaps Porzingis might have become frustrated with the narratives and probably did not want them to affect his relationships with his teammates, friends, or even family members. But fans felt ignoring it would have been better, since clarifying it suggests he may not be as strong-willed as others.
Without Kristaps Porzingis, Warriors will struggle to make the playoffs
There are already a lot of question marks about the Golden State Warriors’ ability to make the playoffs this upcoming season. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are aware of those reservations, but believe they will be better.

However, with Jimmy Butler out for a few more months, and the team relying on younger players to get past the grueling first couple of months, they need someone like Kristaps Porzingis more than ever.
The All-Star can be an exceptional stretch big, as he was for the Boston Celtics back during their run to the 2024 NBA championship. The Warriors expect him to do the same.
But to do that, he needs to be healthy and back on the court. Having played only 15 games, Kristaps Porzingis needs time to work on the nuances with his fellow Warriors teammates. Only then can he be effective late in the season.
