World No.1 Novak Djokovic was seen visiting the Serbian Institute of Sports and Sport Medicine. Tennis and basketball journalist Sasa Ozmo shared pictures of the star on Twitter, captioning it “#Djokovic in Belgrade, visiting Serbian Institute of Sports and Sport Medicine.”

Djokovic had a year of incredible highs, and a few lows. He won five titles, which include the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the Wimbledon. Two additional titles came at Belgrade and Bercy. However, he also faced some major setbacks like the final of the US Open, and semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics and ATP Finals.

He was also unable to lead Serbia to victory in the Davis Cup, despite having gone to lengths to prepare for it. He has a 55-7 win-loss record this year, having won 86% of his matches on hard and clay courts, 92% on indoor hard courts, and 100% on grass courts.

With the tennis calendar at an end, the players have received a much needed hiatus. Making most of his off-season break, Novak Djokovic was seen visiting the Serbian Institute of Sports and Sport Medicine (SISSM).

The SISSM is Serbia’s largest sports medicine research institute, located in the Serbian capital Belgrade. It is a highly regarded institution, known for its advanced use of technology in performance enhancement for athletes. It is a subsidiary of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS).

Goran Bojovic, the director of SISSM was present to welcome the 20-time grand slam champion into their campus. Djokovic was seen interacting with workers and researchers from various departments, and posed for pictures with them.

The end of the year has brought about some controversial speculations with regards to Novak. While the Australian Open making double jab mandatory for participation, the Serb has refused to reveal his vaccination status. Amidst being called a anti-vaxxer and non-believer of science, the world no. 1 was seen visiting the Serbian Institute of Sports and Sport Medicine.
