Dustin Poirier-Nate Diaz

When UFC Megastar Nate Diaz said he wants the Dustin Poirier fight, he means it and he is not bluffing about it. Going back to history, Poirier and Diaz were supposed to fight back in late 2018 for UFC 230 but the fight fell apart midway due to some reasons. Fast forward to 2021 and we get to know that Poirier is ready right away despite his title fight loss at UFC 269 to fight a super fight against Diaz.

Diaz said on Twitter time and again that he is all in for the fight but somewhere the UFC wasn’t paying him enough for the fight according to him. This frsutration of the fight not happening also led to some good amount of back and forth between Diaz and Poirier. Now, Diaz, who’s having the final fight of his UFC contract, hints at his future after his contract is over in a recent public appearence.

Nate Diaz is all game and he “doesn’t mixes it up”

In a brief interview with TMZ Sports, Diaz talked about various things including how he felt honoured listening to hip hop legend Eminem name dropping him on his latest track “Gospel.” Following that, that’s where Diaz also talked about his desired opponent for his next fight and the answer was as usual.

I would like to fight Dustin Poirier like right now, says Diaz “I’ve been trying to do so I didn’t mix up it’s him and them and the game. I’m trying to you know what I’m saying… I want to fight now what’s up Dana White [UFC President] let’s get this retirement fight cracking so I can get out of this,” Diaz concluded.

What do you make of Diaz considering his potential fight with Poirier as his retirement fight? Do you think we won’t see Diaz after the last fight of his UFC contract anymore in combat competition? If that’s so, what’s your all-time favourite Diaz moment to think about?
