Rafael Nadal
Rafael Nadal has been one of the dominant players on the ATP circuit for nearly two decades. With his astonishing achievements on the court and his charming off-court persona, the Spaniard has no dearth of fans.
Ahead of the Indian Wells, the 20-time Grand Slam champion was seen signing autographs for fans after a practice session. A fan named Andrea was ecstatic on seeing her idol and broke down into tears after Nadal autographed her baseball cap.
Nadal addressed his fan by saying “How are you?” and Andrea replied “I love you”, clearly showing her visible excitement on meeting her idol. Andrea mirrored the emotions all the fans feel when they meet the Spaniard as she was emotionally overwhelmed on receiving an autograph. Andrea reportedly traveled all the way from Queretaro, Mexico to get a glimpse of Nadal who is gearing up to win his fourth title of the year at the Indian Wells.
Rafael Nadal sets sights on 4th Indian Wells title

After a tumultuous ending to his 2021 season owing to a career-threatening foot injury, Nadal has made an astonishing comeback this year. The World No.4 has won 3 titles on the trot and is on a 15-0 winning streak. The Mallorcan recently won the Acapulco title, to add to his triumphs at the start of the year, Australian Open and Melbourne Summer Set 1.
With the momentum on his side, Nadal will be looking to add a fourth to his tally at the Indian Wells. The three-time winner is one of the favorites to win the tournament and extend his perfect start to the season. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Nadal will take on either Sebastian Korda or Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round.
With a stacked field that features 19 of the top-20 players in the ATP rankings, the road to the title is tough for the Spaniard. He might face Denis Shapovalov and Jannik Sinner along the way before a rematch of his Australian Open final against Daniil Medvedev awaits the fourth seed. But with a favorable win-loss record against the trio, Nadal will be that favorite to reinforce his flawless season by lifting the title in the California desert.
