UEFA World Cup Qualification: Poland vs Sweden Player Ratings as Poland power into the World Cup with a 2-0 victory

Poland vs Sweden: Poland faced Sweden in the 2nd Round Finals of the UEFA World Cup Qualification at the Silesian Stadium, Chorzow, Poland.

Both the teams were inseparable in the first half, but Sweden looked the more threatening side. But Poland started the second half strongly and were rewarded with a penalty which was converted by Robert Lewandowski. Piotr Zielinski then sealed the game with his goal making it difficult for Sweden to come back into the game again.

Wojciech Szczesny (8.8/10): Szczesny was the player of the match as he made 6 brilliant saves to keep a well-deserved clean sheet.

Matty Cash (6.5/10): Cash had a decent game on the right flank as he combined with Zielinski and was involved in some good plays.

Kamil Glik (7.4/10): The big center back was brilliant in the back with excellent positioning and blocks.

Jan Bednarek (7.6/10): Bednarek was defensively good on the night. His blocks and clearances were vital to push Poland to victory.

Barosz Bereszynski (7.7/10): The left back had an outstanding game. His crosses and passing was instrumental in the team’s performance.

Krystian Bielik (7.5/10): Bielik was at the helm of the midfield playing as a defensive midfielder. He made good challenges and was booked late in the second half.

Jacek Goralski (6.2/10): Goralski was not up to the mark on the night as he made brash tackles and got booked within the first half. He was taken off the field in half time.

Jakub Moder (7.1/10): Moder made some good passes in the middle and distributed the ball well to feed the forwards.

Piotr Zielinski (7.9/10): Zielinski scored Poland’s second goal to cement their lead in the game. He was replaced by Adam Buksa in the dying minutes as he got injured.

Sebastian Szymanski (7.7/10): The left winger was quick and evaded defenders well with his dribbling. He contributed with his defensive work as well.

Robert Lewandowski (8/10): Lewandowski attracted the most fouls in the match. He scored the crucial penalty early in the second half to give the lead to Poland.

Grzegorz Krychowiak (7.3/10): Replacing Goralski, Krychowiak had a tremendous game as he put in hard yards to defend in the final third.

Robin Olsen (7.6/10): Olsen made 6 amazing saves, but it was not enough as he let in a penalty and a late goal which resulted in Sweden crashing out of the World Cup.

Emil Krafth (6.4/10): Krafth was mediocre on the right flank. He could not produce quality balls from the wing and was defensively not spot on as well.

Victor Nilsson Lindelof (6.6/10): Lindelof was not at his usual best and he was let down by his team mates a couple of times which dragged him out of position.

Marcus Danielson (6.2/10): The big center back played the ball from the back well but made a few errors which was not in the interest of the team.

Ludwig Augustinsson (7.7/10): Augustinsson had a tremendous game as he had the most tackles in the match and also won the most duels in the match.

Emil Forsberg (6.8/10): Forsberg played as a left midfielder and had a decent game. He was the most accurate passer in the match.

Kristoffer Olsson (6/10): Olsson could not impose himself in the midfield and was replaced by Karlsson late in the second half.

Jesper Karlstrom (6.1/10): Karlstrom had an average game as well. He committed the foul in the box leading to Poland’s penalty.

Dejan Kulusevski (6.5/10): Kulusevski had a shot on target which was saved. He tried to create chances from the left wing but was unsuccessful.

Robin Quaison (5.8/10): Previous match’s hero, Quaison, did not repeat his heroics on the night. He took a couple of shots, but his performance was not satisfactory.

Alexander Isak (7.4/10): Isak created 4 chances in the match- the most for any player. He was booked late in the second half for getting riled up.

Substitutes:

Anthony Elanga (6.1/10): Elanga did not have much effect on the match apart from a few good runs on the wing.

Mattias Svanberg (6/10): Svanberg came on for Kalrstrom, but had no impact on the game or Sweden’s result.
