“I’m going to keep that underdog mentality,” Derek Carr confident of winning his first playoff fixture

“I’m going to keep that underdog mentality,” Derek Carr confident of winning his first playoff fixture

Derek Carr is confident of his quarterback capabilities and he is hell bent on improving his record in the playoffs. The Las Vegas Raiders finished second in their division last season and earned themselves a wild card playoff round match for the season.

However, they came up second best against the eventual Super Bowl runners-up the Cincinnati Bengals. This prompted calls of whether Derek Carr is capable of winning a match in the playoffs, something which he has not done in his career so far.

Derek Carr will have a better squad this season to win his first playoff season

The question of, ‘Can I win a playoff game?’ Yeah, that’s ridiculous,” Derek Carr said on Wednesday. “Just because we haven’t, just because we had one chance and we lost in the last series of a game to the AFC champions?

The Raiders have an improved squad roster this season, along with the addition of premier wide receiver, Davante Adams who will definitely boost their squad’s pedigree in offense. This will give Derek Carr a chance to set the record straight and silence his doubters as he aims to win the first playoff game of his career.

Derek Carr continued, “Yeah, I think we can. It just shows you how close we were. But with that said, 55 percent of the teams that make the playoffs, the next year don’t. So the odds are against us. I like that kind of thought process better, so I’m going to keep that underdog mentality, and kind of that chip on the shoulder mindset.”
