“They are savages”- Jake Paul comments on the prospects of women’s boxing ahead of Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor

Jake Paul has been playing an active role in the forthcoming Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor boxing match. As the co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, Paul trains alongside Serrano as well as represents the fighter. He has been working hand in hand with Matchroom Boxing honcho Eddie Hearn.

The match is supposedly considered the greatest and biggest fight in the history of women’s boxing. The two competitors will be squaring off in the ring at ‘ Madison Square Garden and will be the very first time that two female fighters are headlining a combat sports event inside the iconic building. The fight is envisioned for 30th April 2022.

Taylor demanded this fight for nearly half a decade, in an interview, she said, “These are the fights that I always wanted to be involved in. Always wanted to fight the very, very best in the sport. That’s why I did turn professional in the first place.”

Considering the spectacle of an event it is going to be, It is for sure that these two will set benchmarks regarding fighter pay in female boxing. In the press conference, Serrano stated, “From even when the fight was first offered to me, it’s been back-and-forth negotiations.” There were also claims that both the competitors have the potential to make 6 figures from this fight.

Being the co-promoter of the event and representing one-half of the main event, Paul was marketing their fight in an interview with TMZ. Paul claimed that it is arguably the biggest female boxing match of all time. Furthermore, the fight would create history for the sport, pound for pound squaring off against each other. Also noted that it’s going to be a tough knock and could go either way, however, his bet is on Amanda Serrano. 

Jake said, “Getting excited every day that goes by. Women’s boxing is just as good as men boxing…..this will open up a lot doors for women in boxing. They both got seven-figure paycheck” The fight is no doubt a cracker, the world of boxing will tune in unanimously deciding who really is the pound for pound queen in women’s boxing.
