“The allegations are false”: NFL investigation finds no evidence to support Hue Jackson’s claims that the Browns ‘deliberately’ lost games

The Cleveland Browns have been at the center of all the drama recently. The Baker Mayfield controversy, the Deshaun Watson trade, the sexual harassment lawsuits against Deshaun, and the Hue Jackson controversy, there is enough content to make any soap opera writer envious.
Hue Jackson is a well-known entity in the world of American Football. Currently, he serves as the head coach at Grambling State University. He has served as an offensive assistant at both the collegiate and professional levels. Moreover, he also held coordinator positions with the Washington Redskins in 2003, the Falcons in 2007, the Raiders in 2010, and the Bengals from 2014 to 2015.
Hue Jackson had accused the Browns of paying him to lose games

Hue also served as the head coach of the Raiders in 2011 and the Browns from 2016 to 2018. In fact, he was fired by Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam during the 2018 season after the team wasn’t able to perform as per expectations. A while back, in a series of posts on social media, Jackson indicated that the team actually paid him bonuses to lose.
He claimed he was intentionally set up to fail. Jackson later softened those claims. The Browns went from terrible in 2016 to completely miserable and winless in 2017. This allowed them to have the No 1 overall pick in the 2017 and 2018 drafts. The team then selected star players like Myles Garrett and Baker Mayfield.
A while ago, the league asked former Securities and Exchange Commission chair, Mary Jo White, to look into Jackson’s allegations. Much to Hue’s disappointment, as reported by The Guardian, the investigation recently concluded and it was declared that “none of the allegations could be substantiated.”
After the report came out, Browns’ spokesperson Peter Jean-Baptiste claimed, “We appreciate the independent investigation led by Mary Jo White and the Debevoise team which brings closure to these allegations that Hue Jackson publicly recanted shortly after they were made and that we’ve known all along are categorically false.”
“As we’ve previously stated, we welcomed this investigation because the integrity of our game is something that should not be taken lightly and an independent review was crucial in bringing a conclusion to this matter,” he further stated.
