Was Stephen Curry over-confident before the Game 5 showdown? Well, some would say yes as he wanted to ‘Whoop that trick’ upon the home team and proceed into the conference finals. But the reality has surely hit the former champions hard and in a very brutal manner as they lost via a 39-point margin and trailed by as many as 52-points. To make matters worse New Orleans Pelicans’ star CJ McCollum too went onto troll the 3-point king.

None of the Golden State players were at their best, while Grizzlies marquee scorers – Jones, Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr haunted them quarter after quarter. As a result of which the series is now 3-2, with the action heading into the backyard of Steve Kerr. In simpler words, the pressure has piled up upon Stephen Curry, Warriors after this humiliating beatdown.

Safe to say Stephen Curry’s trash-talking clearly backfired as the Warriors ended up on the wrong end of a 39-point drubbing at the hands of a Ja Morant-less Grizzlies side. New Orleans Pelicans star CJ McCollum could not help but chime in as he threw a bit of shade towards Curry and Co.

The Golden State Warriors got embarrassed in this one and I’m pretty sure Curry will be one of the first to admit that they were badly beaten by a much better team on the evening. Be that as it may, the Dubs are still just one win away from booking their spot in the Western Conference Finals.

Certainly, Memphis Grizzlies have shown what they are capable of without Ja Morant. One more win can certainly swing the balance of this semi-final series in their favor. But with Stephen Curry majorly insulted on as well as off the court, he can be as venomous as anybody else in his back-yard? Will we see the legend of the 3-Point King continue in Game 6? Or is the young Grizz side coming to haunt the former champions? Remains to be seen.
