“Let’s give it to them“- Eugene Bareman discusses a potential fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway

Max Holloway-Alexander Volkanovski
Alexander Volkanovski is on his way to writing his new legacy as one of the featherweights to ever play the sport. The fighter made his UFC debut in 2016 and went through everybody to become the new champion. At UFC 245, Volkanovski fought Max Holloway for the championship and won the fight via unanimous decision.
The results were shocking as nobody thought Holloway would lose the fight. After that, ‘ The Blessed’ challenged Volkanovski for a title rematch that took place on UFC 251. Volkanovski won the fight via a split decision but it attracted a lot of controversies. 18 out of 27 media outlets scored the fight in favour of Holloway.
Since then, Volkanovski has defended his title twice against Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung. Holloway was supposed to fight Volkanovski at UFC 273 but due to an injury, Sung Jung had to replace the American.
Alexander Volkanovski coach on the potential trilogy fight with Max Holloway

Eugene Bareman recently spoke with the Submission Radio in which he discussed the fights of Israel Adesanya and Volkanovski.
While talking about Volkanovski’s next title defence against Holloway, Bareman revealed that he doesn’t have any interest in that fight and thinks it is not required. According to Bareman, their team won twice already and has proved their capabilities. Bareman explained that he will protest the fight and if the fans want it then let’s do it.
“Personally, I don’t think the fight is necessary at all…Because we’ve already won twice. I’m not against it happening again…if it’s what the people want to see, let’s give it to them.”
Other than beating Holloway on two multiple occasions, Volkanovski has also defeated everyone else who challenged him. The Aussie has established mighty domination over the division which is hard for any fighter to beat. But Holloway is a fan favourite and many still believe he can stop Volkanovski winning streak. These hypes and expectations from the fight fans are one of the major reasons the UFC is willing to make that fight.
