Earlier today, Suresh Raina shared a post on his Twitter where he could be seen standing with two mates Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid in Amsterdam. Raina has shared the dressing room with Moeen in the Chennai Super Kings franchise and the two have been good friends off the field.

Raina has retired from all forms of cricket and went unsold in the recently concluded IPL 2022, leaving fans dissapointed. He is the first ever cricketer to reach 5,000 runs in IPL. The left-hander is the third-highest with his runs of 5,528 in 2015 matches.

In September 2011, Moeen Ali called it quits on his Test career and it took him less than a year to reverse back that decision. He said on-air during the third day of the second Test between England and New Zealand. He said that he had a conversation on the subject with England head coach Brendon McCullum.

“I spoke to McCullum this morning, and we did discuss Pakistan (tour) this winter. The door is always open, and yeah, I suppose I am officially unretired,” he said.

“He is a very difficult person to say no to. I find that very, very hard. He is very convincing and to be honest I would love to play under him and Ben Stokes. They are both very aggressive and I think I would suit their cricket a bit more.”

He is currently working with the BBC Comms team for the Test series in England and had expressed his desire to be with with the team when they’ll tour Pakistan.

“I have played Pakistan Super League out there a few years ago but it’s not the same. To travel with an England side there having family background from that part of the world will be amazing. It would be a historic event because of England not touring there for so many years.”
