It sparked the conversation about racism in the NFL and now, former Raiders punter Marquette King has made a few shocking claims that will ruffle a few feathers.

During his early days, King wanted to be a wide receiver. However, as time progressed, he transformed himself into a top class punter and was eventually roped in by the Raiders in 2012. After spending more than half a decade with the Raiders, in 2018, he went to the Broncos.

However, his stint at Denver didn’t last long. King delivered several notable performances at the biggest stage but now he has no takers. Recently, he took to Twitter to let everyone know that discrimination is the reason why he hasn’t got ample opportunities despite have a really strong Resume.

I haven’t officially retired,” King wrote on Twitter. “I’m just not fighting to get in a league that ignores the resume I’ve created that’s better than half of the punters in the NFL.” Post that, King again took to Twitter and wrote that he is “done fighting.” Marquette also listed his achievements in the same Tweet.

Only the 5th black punter since 1920, King had a breakthrough season in 2013 where he led the league in yards per punt.
