Italian Open 2020: Rafael Nadal cruises to quarterfinals

Rafael Nadal

Nadal 4

Rafael Nadal wins past Dusan Lajovic as the duo faced off in round 3 at Italian Open. Rafa lost only four games in total as he won 6-1, 6-3 in the match. Rafa was only playing his second match since the pandemic halted play. Rafa is back on his favourite turf chasing his 36th ATP 1000 masters title.

Rafa into 93rd quarter-finals

While Novak claimed his 85th quarters’ entry, Rafael Nadal is into his 93rd ATP 1000 event quarter-finals. Rafael has been the King of Clay and his encounters at the Italian Open are proof. The Spaniard has not lost a match at the event since his 2017 exit.

Rafael Nadal is looking strong. Much like his match against Pablo Carreno Busta, Rafa was hitting hard from the baseline and attacking ferociously. He faced no issues reaching the ball well and only lost 4 games to the opponent.

Nadal finished the match is an hour and a half, as he hit 2 aces and won 6/14 breakpoints. He will face Argentine, Diego Schwartzman in the Quarterfinals. Rafael has played the Argentine before and keeping in mind the Spaniard’s beastly form, he should be able to win against Deigo.
