Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are unlikely to be selected for T20Is according to sources

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been the pillars of Indian cricket for more than a decade. But reportedly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning a young team under the leadership of flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.
Sources have communicated the same to NDTV that Hardik Pandya is likely to be made India’s long-standing captain in the shortest format. “BCCI wants a young team under Hardik Pandya for T20Is,” the sources said.
In addition to that, the sources also mentioned that the selection committee under Chetan Sharma is likely to have a talk with Kohli and Rohit about their future in T20Is. But Rohit, in the press conference ahead of the first ODI, said: “I’ve not decided to give up the format (T20Is).”
Both Kohli and Rohit have led the Men in Blue to the T20 World Cups but have not been able to win the coveted cup. Rohit made his ODI debut in June 2007 and played his first T20I in September of that year. He has amassed 3853 runs from 148 T20Is; is just below Virat who leads the table with a tally of 4008 runs from 115 matches. Kohli played his maiden ODI match in 2008, while his T20I debut came in June 2010.
