A winter of regrets begins for the New York Yankees after a devastating Game 5 World Series loss. In the end, the dream matchup ended up worse for the Yankees. The pinstripes will now face their grievances and recall all the miscues made in the Fall Classic.

Just like Game 1, the Yankees threw Game 5 to the Los Angeles Dodgers despite holding a 5-0 lead early. Furthermore, the fans are outraged and have called out manager Aaron Boone and captain Aaron Judge for their errors in the World Series.

The team could have won Game 1 and Game 5 if not for their defensive errors. Judge fumbling a catch and letting it roll on the field, and Boone failing to strategize and utilize the roster properly led to the team’s downfall.

During the press conference, Aaron Boone talked about how “heartbroken” he is and how this will sting for a long time. Even former Yankees stars Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez blasted the team for their error-filled plays. 

I’m heartbroken. It doesn’t take away my pride of what that means to me and what that group forged this year…But I’m heartbroken. The ending is cruel.

He further added how the team must be feeling after coming so far and still losing the game. The Yankees advanced to the World Series for the first time in 15 years but failed to capitalize on the moments. 

Aaron Boone expected to return as Yankees manager in 2025

The New York Yankees will still have their same manager, Aaron Boone, for the 2025 season run. Despite the team’s sloppy run in the World Series, they’ll once again try to aim for the Championship, maybe with a set of new players on the roster.

Fans are calling for Boone’s suspension immediately after the Game 5 loss of the World Series. They have not been lenient since Boone’s miscue on Nestor Cortes in Game 1 coming into Game 5.

However, since he managed to get the team to win the ALCS, his job was secured for another year. The moment they advanced to the Fall Classic, his job had already been secured, but they were also looking for a breakthrough for the WS drought.

The fans on social media are more than furious and have called out not only Boone but also Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman. However, some supporters believed the team could try to win the next World Series with Boone. Check out the reactions below:
