Aaron Boone has come under fire once again. On Monday, the New York Yankees manager was spotted in North Carolina attending the college coaching debut of Bill Belichick. This did not sit well with the MLB fans, as this came just a day before his team begins a hectic 12-game stretch.

The Yankees have had a mixed season in 2025. Following a hot start, the reigning American League Champions lost track in the midst of the season and suffered a major slump. This saw their division rivals, the Toronto Blue Jays, leapfrog them and take control of the AL East.

In the past few days, the team started to fire again. After sweeping the Washington Nationals in a 3-game series, the Bronx Bombers took 3 out of the 4 games against the Chicago White Sox. On a day when Aaron Judge scripted another piece of MLB history, the team ended up losing 3-2, which snapped their 7-game winning run.

The 27-time World Series winners had a day off on Monday. From Tuesday, they will begin a 12-game stretch which will see them take on the contending teams in the league. A trip to Houston to take on the Astros is first. The Astros (76-62) will enter the series against the Yankees following a 4-game split with the Los Angeles Angels.

Ahead of this big matchup, Boone was spotted in North Carolina. The Yankees manager was seen at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill attending the game. Check out a video regarding this below:

For the unversed, Aaron Boone’s son is a student assistant on the coaching staff. This could be a reason why the former Yankees star was in the attendance on Monday.

Fans on X were not pleased to see Boone attend this game instead of being with his team in Houston. Many of them blasted him for this choice. One user wrote, “Shows where his priorities are,” while taking a swipe at the 52-year-old. Check out that and some other reactions from X below:

Speaking of the game, Bill Belichick and his team had a day to forget. The former New England Patriots coach suffered one of his biggest defeats as his side got crushed 48-14.

Aaron Boone and the Yankees are gearing up for the toughest challenge of 2025 season

As the month of September rolls on, the time for teams to get hot has come. With just 4 more weeks of regular season remaining, the New York Yankees and their manager, Aaron Boone, are gearing up for the toughest challenge of the 2025 season.

Following a 3-game series against the Astros, the Yankees will return home to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. They do not have a good record against their division rivals this year.

After winning the first series of the season against them, the Yankees dropped 5 consecutive games against them, which included a 4-game sweep. They lost the third series as well, as the Blue Jays took 2 games out of the 3. The current AL East division leaders have a 7-3 record against the Yankees this year.

The New York outfit will then face the AL Central leaders, the Detroit Tigers. The Yanks have a losing record against them, too, as they lost the first series 2-1.

Their 12-game stretch will come to an end with a trip to Boston against their arch rivals, the Red Sox. They have been dominated by them this year, with a 2-8 record, and have suffered eight consecutive losses.

This 12-game stretch could make or break the season of the Yankees. As of Monday, the team is 2.5 games behind the Blue Jays for the first spot in the AL East and sits at the top of the AL Wild Card Standings alongside the Red Sox.
