Guaranteed Rate Field witnessed a shocking match between the New York Yankees and MLB’s “worst team” Chicago White Sox, as the latter swept pinstripes in a 12-2 win. While the Yanks have lost many games prior to the season, their latest match ended in an embarrassing defeat with a vast score margin to boot.

Monday night not only came with the Yankees’ loss, but to add salt to their sore result, they even lost Jazz Chisholm Jr. to injury. The Yankees rookie left the field in the seventh inning with a left elbow injury and is said to undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

He got injured after diving head-first into the home plate, leaving the player in an emergency state. Since his trade, the Yankees have been on the rise to victory in their past few games. However, their stride got cut short on Monday by the Chicago White Sox.

Aaron Boone contemplated on their loss saying “We’re playing a lot every freakin’ day” and unfortunately a lost opportunity is nothing to drag on about. It’s time to turn a new page and strive to do better in the next game.

So it sucks to lose. Really good, exhilarating when you win. But either way, you turn the page.

He regretted not being able to “punch through” their offensive and defensive line resulting in “we couldn’t stop them.” It’s “just one of those nights” but “we gotta execute better than that,” Boone added.

Social media reacts as White Sox sweep Yankees in 12-2 win

Yanks outfielder Alex Verdugo commented on how they’ve got to perform better and “step on them early” so as not to let any rivals get ahead of them. He further added,

Yeah, they’re one of the worst teams, if you want to put it that way, but these guys are still big leaguers…we gave them a little bit of momentum and they ran with it today.

The White Sox’s turnaround moment came in the seventh inning when they scored seven runs off Yanks pitcher Enyel De Los Santos. Yankees pitcher Luis Gil further allowed 4 runs and 98 pitches to record 12 outs.

He said, “There are good days and bad days” and this match surely came into the second category. Then again, the game ended with the pinstripes’ loss, and they’ll look forward to redeeming themselves in the next game.
