The New York Yankees’ continued downfall threatens to ruin the year by falling out of playoff position altogether. The team started strong earlier in the regular season game but in the last month or so they’ve failed to keep up with their expectations.
At this rate, many are worried their World Series dream will remain a dream. However, Yankees manager Aaron Boone seemed to remain positive despite the team’s slump. He believes the team can get it together and they’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel.
After their blockbuster trade acquisition of Juan Soto in the offseason, and Gerrit Cole returning to the lineup, the Yankees were expected to lead their division in the 2024 series. However, since early July they became the only team of this year to win 5 out of 21 games at one point.
They lost 7 out of their last 12 matches and ended up losing to their archnemesis in the latest showoff between NY Yankees and the Red Sox. Boston Red Sox won Friday’s game by a 9-7 margin, leaving Yanks fans to question Boone’s plans and dreams.
There’s definitely an end in sight, and we’re gonna get there. It’s hard…We gotta close out innings, close out games. I’m absolutely confident we will…This is absolutely gut check time.

Their struggle has Aaron Boone slam the table in his old iconic fashion saying, “It’s right in front of us.” While many are hopeful for a turnaround, several have commented how it’s show time, and only results can do so.
NY Yankees hopeful for Giancarlo Stanton’s return to the Bronx
The NY Yankees are eagerly counting on the days they’ll have their designated hitter and outfielder Giancarlo Stanton back from the IL. According to Aaron Boone, Stanton is expected to line up for Monday’s series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The veteran was sidelined after suffering a left hamstring strain on June 23. Before his absence, he recorded 18 home runs, and 45 runs driven, with a .794 OPS. The team suffered a huge blow with his injury as prior to his leave they were around 8-25 record.

Giancarlo Stanton’s return to the lineup is expected to give the Yankees a much-needed boost to qualify for the playoff season. Furthermore, the team and the fans are keeping a lookout for the July 30 MLB Trade Deadline. They’re hoping to add a couple of players to their roster to give the team the much-needed boost.
