When Aaron Donald left the league, it wasn’t just a loss for the Los Angeles Rams but for the entire NFL, bidding goodbye to the Hall of Famer. But it seems Donald has found his replacement, naming the Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter as the one to carry on his legacy.
Among the many talented names produced by Georgia Bulldogs, Carter quickly flourished into arguably the best defensive tackle in the league only in his second year. And as he prepares for the most crucial game for Philly, the legend Donald couldn’t help but express his honest evaluation of the second-year defensive star.
Donald officially passed his torch to Carter during a recent conversation revealed by LeSean McCoy during his appearance on Fox Sports’ The Facility. The future Hall of Famer emphasized his impressive performance and potential to become the “best defensive tackle” in the league– a title held by Donald for over a decade.

Donald’s faith in Carter didn’t only develop by watching him play, but he also faced him last season, which was the Eagles DT’s rookie season but the Rams DT’s final season in the league. Carter is a significant part of Philly’s strong defense, which holds a near-impossible task of stopping the unstoppable Jayden Daniels on Sunday.
Jalen Carter overwhelmed by Aaron Donald’s endorsement
Following the footsteps of the legendary Donald is one thing, but earning his respect and confidence to take over his legacy is an entirely surreal experience that Carter well-defined when he spoke to the media about the high praise received from the ‘OG’ Donald.

Carter shared that he hasn’t seen the video yet, which is justified as the NFC Championship game is less than a day away. But it seems he would watch it before stepping on the field on Sunday, using Donald’s uplighting words of confidence to boost his morale.
