Aaron Glenn will not tolerate any avoidable penalties from his players at the New York Jets. He made that clear when the cameras caught him yelling at a linebacker on Saturday’s preseason game.
Glenn was seen yelling at Marcelino McCrary-Ball after the undrafted pass rusher pushed the Green Bay Packers’ tight end Luke Musgrave, even though he was already out of bounds.
Aaron Glenn is not a guy I would ever want to make angry.

Glad to see a Jets coach actually get pissed when the players do something dumb pic.twitter.com/b5rv8WoNcf
The referee threw a penalty flag for unnecessary roughness/unsportsmanlike conduct. Cameras caught Glenn giving McCrary-Ball rough love when he returned to the sidelines.

Strong start from Aaron Glenn as the Jets’ head coach
It was Glenn’s first game as a head coach, and he demanded a strong performance from the start. Several players, including defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, left guard John Simpson, and rookies Mason Taylor and Malachi Moore, did not play.

New signing Justin Fields made an instant impact at quarterback. Fields orchestrated a 79-yard touchdown drive that resulted in a 13-yard scramble touchdown. He further added 3 completions from 4 for 75 yards before Glenn took him out.
It was good to see him use his legs. We know he has that in his bag, but the thing that he showed is we can call a play & take a shot, but if the shot’s not there, he did a good job checking it down. He was patient. He did everything that we needed to get this win, & for him to be the QB that we know that he can be.

Rookie Brady Cook replaced Fields in the game. The former Missouri Tigers starter lasted 6 completions from 8 for 62 yards before Adrian Martinez took over the shot-calling duties.
Martinez remained in the game far longer than his two teammates. He threw for 152 yards and 1 touchdown pass (to Stone Smartt) from 11 completions. He ended the game with a 130.62 QBR.
The Jets even forced a safety out of the Packers quarterback, Malik Willis. DE Jay Tufele won the safety and later handed the ball to Glenn as a souvenir.

Glenn introduced the Jets’ new kicker, Harrison Mevis, in the match. Mevis proved to be very efficient by making all three of his field goal attempts and one extra point. His longest successful kick was from 39 yards.
The game finished 30-10 in the Jets’ favor.
Preseason or not, a win is a win, and I was always taught if you want to be a winner, not only do you have to understand how to win, but to understand how to consistently win.
Glenn said at the post-game press conference
"That is our brand when you look at it. The way that we ran the ball, very efficient in our passing game. We had the ball for over 38 minutes, no turnovers"

Glenn wants his team to play cutthroat, hard-hitting football, but they must reduce the number of penalties during the match. The Jets conceded 10 against the Packers. There were zero turnovers.
The Jets have two more preseason games scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium. In game two, they will face the New York Giants, and the following week, they will host the Philadelphia Eagles.
