Aaron Gordon claims Nuggets are ‘unfazed’ by Luka Doncic arrival ahead of Lakers matchup

The Los Angeles Lakers made headlines a few weeks ago when they secured a blockbuster deal for Luka Doncic. With this addition, the Lakers have a great attacking trio of Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves. Notably, the Lakers face their top rivals, the Denver Nuggets, in their upcoming matchup, and Nuggets star Aaron Gordon seems ‘unfazed’ by the new-look Lakers.
With 13 victories in their last 14 games versus the Lakers, plus the postseason, the Nuggets have prevailed in this battle in recent years. Gordon clarified that the Nuggets are more concerned with their own squad than with their rivals in an interview with Malika Andrews on ESPN’s NBA Today. Also, the two teams have faced off in the playoffs three times over the previous five seasons. This has fueled a continuous struggle for dominance in the Western Conference.
They definitely have a new look to them. We don’t really concern ourselves with other teams. We focus on what’s going on in our locker room. We take care of what we’re supposed to take care of. If the cards fall where they may, we focus on Denver Nuggets basketball and that’s it. It doesn’t really matter who’s in front of us or who our opposition is.

Doncic’s arrival is a historic move. Securing a future star is unimaginable, even though the Lakers needed to give Anthony Davis away in the process. Many teams would find it frightening when Doncic and LeBron James are on the same court and share the same vision.
With nine consecutive victories and a tie for second place in the Western Conference, the Nuggets are in excellent condition going into the matchup. Conversely, the Lakers, who are now 5th in the Western Conference, are still getting used to life under Doncic. The upcoming game against the Nuggets at the Ball Arena will be a spectacle for NBA fans.
Luka Doncic and LeBron James doubtful for Nuggets game
The Los Angeles Lakers have a tough game upcoming against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. The likes of LeBron James and Luka Doncic will be up against the Nuggets’ star man Nikola Jokic. However, the biggest concern for Lakers fans is the fitness of both James and Doncic going into the Nuggets matchup.
James and Luka Magic are classified as ‘probable’ on the Lakers’ injury report before the game. Fans who had been expecting the James-Doncic pair to put up standout performances and establish themselves against the Nuggets are disappointed by this.

Aside from them, the team will be missing Bronny James, who is with his G League team, the South Bay Lakers, and Maxi Kleber, who is recovering from surgery on his right foot. It remains to be seen how this unfolds in the coming days.
