On Thursday, the MLB officially crowned New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge as the 2024 American League MVP. This comes after he had another incredible season with the bat.
After an impressive 2022 season, there were some who wondered if Judge could ever surpass that. That year, the slugger slammed 62 home runs and single-handedly dragged his team to the postseason. This season, he might have had less home runs, but his impact was more than that year.
This season, Judge once again crossed the 50-home run mark. He went to finish the regular season with 58 home runs and a league-leading 144 RBI. As per the stats, this was his best year offensively. He batted with an average of .332 while having an On-base percentage (OBP) of .458 and a slugging percentage (SLG) of .701.
This performance saw him being named a Silver Slugger, AL Hank Aaron Award winner, and has now brought a second MVP title. He was once again named as the unanimous winner, finishing ahead of Bobby Witt Jr. and his teammate Juan Soto.
Another incredible season for the ages.

As for the National League, the MVP Award went to Shohei Ohtani. Just like Judge, the Los Angeles Dodgers star was named the unanimous winner and finished ahead of Francisco Lindor and Ketel Marte in the rankings.
