New York Yankees star Aaron Judge has expressed support for the New York Knicks. The 2024 American League MVP on Wednesday claimed that he was rooting for the Knicks and hoped to catch a game as the NBA side tries to push for the title.
In the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the Knicks stunned the Boston Celtics to progress through to the finals. In this conference final, they are going up against the Indiana Pacers, who eliminated the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5.
Judge, the Yankees captain, is rooting for the Knicks to win. While speaking to the reporters after their 4-3 walk-off win against the Texas Rangers, the slugger pointed out that the city of New York was ‘buzzing‘ with the performance of Knicks in the playoffs.
They’ve got such a great group of guys that you want to root for all of them. They’re just guys that play the game hard, play the game the right way, they battle all the way to the end. You love to see New York buzzing, especially when the Knicks are rolling, we’re rolling, the Mets are rolling. So it’s a good time right now.

Apart from the Knicks, the two New York-based MLB sides have started the season in good fashion. The Yankees, who lost in the World Series last year, recently faced their cross-town rivals in a 3 game series at the Bronx.
They ended up winning 2 of them and took the Subway Series. The Bronx Bombers currently lead the AL East division and have the second-best record in the American League at 29-19. Meanwhile, the Mets have suffered a little slump but still post a good 30-20 record after the first 50 games of the 2025 season.
Aaron Judge praises Jasson Dominguez following walk-off home run against Rangers
After taking the series against their rivals New York Mets, the New York Yankees continued their winning ways against the Texas Rangers. On Wednesday, they won their 5 straight series as Jasson Dominguez hit a walk-off home run. He later received some heavy praise from his captain Aaron Judge.

The Yankees found themselves 3-2 down in the eighth inning. Judge who was 0-for-2, would deliver an RBI single to tie the game at 3-3.
In the ninth inning, Dominguez stepped up to the plate after Cody Bellinger had been grounded out at first base. The 22-year-old was 0-for-3 in the game until those points. Following a 2-0 count, he would connect on an 85 mph sinker off Luke Jackson for a walk-off home run.

Following the game, Jude would praise the youngster. The 6-time MLB All-Star expressed that Dominguez had become a “solid” player for them in both offense and defense.
I think that’s the biggest thing, his approach. Ironing that out, making big improvements on defense as well and just becoming a solid player for us.

The Dominican Republic star is one of the players the Yankees have made a move on this season following the exit of Soto. Since his departure, Dominguez has become a part of the outfield alongside Judge and Trent Grisham. He is currently hitting with a .241 batting average and has 6 home runs and 22 RBI for the season.
Jasson Dominguez hits Yankees’ first walk-off home run since Aaron Judge’s iconic 2022 season
The New York Yankees walked off the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night with a walk-off home run from Jasson Dominguez. This turned out to be the first walk-off home run of the Yankees since the iconic game where Aaron Judge hit his 60th home run of the season.

In 2022, Judge had a magnificent season with the bat and broke several records. In the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Yankees star hit his 60th home run of the season, joining Babe Ruth and Roger Maris as the only Yankees to hit 60 or more home runs in a season.
The Yankees went on to win that game 9-8 through a walk-off slam from Giancarlo Stanton. Since then, the Bronx Bombers had surprisingly not hit a walk-off home run.

Judge and his team will now be looking to sweep the Rangers with a victory on Thursday and extend their winning run to 4 games. Following this series, the team will go on the road for 9 games and take on the Colorado Rockies, the Los Angeles Angels, before squaring off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2024 World Series matchup.
