Speculations of a reunion between Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will hardly ever die down. Instead, it has picked up steam in the last couple of days.

Adams is the best wide receiver in the NFL in many fans’ and analysts’ eyes. There’s no denying the generational talent that the veteran wideout possesses, but one can also agree that most of his numbers came while playing with Aaron Rodgers.

The four-time NFL MVP made it clear that if he ever gets to play with Adams again, he will relish it. While strolling through the golf course near Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, Rodgers fueled the fire.

I love Davante [Adams]. I can’t wait to play with him… again.

The 40-year-old’s statement is quite interesting because he mentioned he ‘can’t wait’ instead of ‘he would love’ to play with Adams. This only intensifies the idea that he could be pulling something behind the scenes.

Rodgers’s statement came just a day after Davante Adams broke the internet while appearing on Up and Adams.

He’s in the ear, that’s for sure… but it’s not easy. [Obviously], we can get together and talk about the old times and the potential of doing this and that but I’m a Raider and he knows that.

Currently, the 6-time Pro Bowler is under a 5-year, $140 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, which he signed back in 2022 per Spotrac.

The New York Jets failed to pursue Davante Admas.

After Rodgers secured his move, the Jets reportedly turned their gaze at Davante Admas. ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed in November 2023 that the Jets actively tried to trade for the 31-year-old before the deadline closed.

However, it failed to materialize because the Raiders were in a very bad spot. Following a horrible start to the season, they fired both head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, so the locker room required a leader to keep the situation under control.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas claimed that he tried to establish contact with the Raiders front office, but no one answered.

We made a lot of calls on a lot of different positions. But it takes two to tango. We made a lot of calls, but we didn't get a lot of deals done.

One of the reasons the Jets could afford a talk was because Rodgers agreed to a cutdown in his contract to allow additional signings. The agreement added an extra $35 million to the Jets cap space.

Now it’s unclear whether there’s a change in the status quo. However, judging by both Rodgers and Adams’ statements, it will not be long before the fans see a closure to this ongoing saga.
