New York Jets, along the first season with Aaron Rodgers in tow, has been pretty bad for a team with a four-time MVP quarterback on center. In the recent string of losses, the Jets suffered a blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The New York Jets lost the game 31-6, a game rightly called a Sunday stroll for the Cardinals by the CBS broadcast. In the first quarter, the Jets went down 14-3 as Cardinals blitzed through the Jets’ defense.

The NY defense, headed by a defensive coordinator as head coach for consecutive terms, lacked the luster of the team it once was. The Green and White lacked in all sectors while surprisingly being better at kicking. To sum it up, they were really bad.

Aaron Rodgers, who joined the Jets in 2023 and is playing his first season in 2024 after a season-ending injury in his first year, admitted the fact. The star QB took the blame post-game, adding that the offense should’ve been better. However, he acknowledged being bamboozled as to why they went flat out after a long week to rest and recover.

There’s been a lot of emotions this year for sure. I thought after a big win on Thursday night and a nice long week we were going to come out with a lot of energy and win the game. We didn’t come out with great energy on either side of the ball and, offensively, you’re not going to beat anybody scoring six points.

Aaron Rodgers told reporters, per Jets’ official website

Rodgers avoided giving further details when asked to clarify what he meant by ’emotions,’ stating that now isn’t the time to get into those discussions. However, the 41-year-old assured that he would provide a more detailed response in the future.

Despite their struggles, the New York Jets (3-7) are still in second place in their division. The New England Patriots (3-7) improved their position with a recent win over Caleb Williams’ Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills (8-2) maintain a solid lead in the AFC East, with a chance to clinch the division by Week 11 if certain scenarios align in their favor.

Aaron Rodgers praises the Cardinals after they extend winning streak to four games

The afternoon at State Farm Stadium wasn’t the best outing for Aaron Rodgers. He was constantly under pressure from the Cardinals’ relentless pass rushers, swift defensive backs shutting down his receivers, and often having to rush his throws. Meanwhile, more fans are joining the chorus, echoing the sentiment already popular among Dallas Cowboys supporters: ‘They are better off without Rodgers.’

The Cardinals dominated the Jets with a 31-6 victory, earning praise from Rodgers for their strong defense and skilled offensive players.

They have a lot of nice players. Kyler (Murray) seemed like he was really efficient. The running back, (James) Conner, is a load. We couldn’t get him down a lot. They’ve got a good tight end, got a top-pick receiver (Marvin Harrison Jr). Defensively, they’ve got a nice scheme. Budda (Baker) is obviously really talented. Corners played well. They did a nice job today. They took it to us.

Aaron Rodgers told the media

Jets’ head coach Jeff Ulbrich noted that the Cardinals likely passed more than the team had expected. He acknowledged that Arizona had primarily focused on their running game but praised Kyler Murray for effectively capitalizing on the Jets’ defensive lapses.
