Recovering from a torn Achilles, Aaron Rodgers entered the 2024 season with great determination to change the fate of the franchise. But as it hasn’t worked so far, the veteran quarterback is thinking of changing the approach– having more fun and enjoying the game.
Last Monday, the New York Jets suffered their fourth consecutive loss of the season at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers – 37-15. Amid the team’s ongoing struggles, the four-time NFL MVP has decided to lighten the dull environment of the locker room and change their perspective for the season, rather than dwell on their mistakes.
During his weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Rodgers shared his plan for the team ahead of the upcoming Sunday Night Football Match against the New England Patriots. He admitted that he and his team are playing with a lot of anger, instead of enjoying the football that they are passionate about. Upon hitting this realization, he decided to change the attitude of his team.

Although the quarterback said with good intentions as pressure and frustrations can’t bring effective results, the Jets are not happy with his goal. Perhaps, their opinion can be changed about this, if Rodgers’ new approach leads the team to a victory which they desperately need.
Aaron Rodgers determined to change course despite 2-5 start
There has been a lot of skepticism regarding the 41-year-old’s ability as he entered his 20th season in the NFL this year. Despite the collapse of last season, Rodgers was given a benefit of doubt because he wasn’t in the locker room after the first week.
Former head coach Robert Saleh and Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett were held accountable for the team’s failure, but with Saleh’s departure, the pressure for Rodgers to deliver a successful season has significantly intensified. As he moved forward, he realized that the “power of belief is a snowball that can start in an avalanche,” and that’s exactly what the Green Gang is aspiring to do.
The Jets are sitting with 2-5, which is said to be the worst start in the ten-time Pro Bowler’s career. Many believe the quarterback who was once counted among the elites in the league, has lost his form with age. But he is determined for a change and if everything goes well, the Jets might turn the season around.
