The New York Jets are in a rough situation. The team finds itself in a must-win game against the New England Patriots in Week 8. At the end of the first quarter, the Jets trail by one point after the team failed to kick a field goal after Aaron Rodgers‘ first touchdown drive.
The Jets quarterback, so far, has eight yards and one touchdown on three completions. However, the more concerning part is the fact that the New York Jets have utilized all of their three timeouts available within the first quarter to make adjustments.
It is a surprising thing to see considering there is another full quarter the team needs to play. It seems like interim HC Jeff Ulbrich is attempting to make the necessary adjustments early on in the game so that the team does not make mistakes and dig itself into a deep hole before going into halftime.
A team gets a total of six timeouts per game, three to use in the first half and three to use in the second half. The Jets had to use all of their timeouts early on after confusion prevailed on the offensive side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers and his wide receivers did not seem to be on the same page. This made it necessary to take a pause and regroup.
Fans call out miscommunication on offense that compelled the Jets to exhaust their timeouts in the 1st quarter
Watching the team use all three timeouts this early on in the game has put fans of the team on the edge of their seats. It is time to get nervous about the odds of this squad ending its season on a winning note after watching them struggle to coordinate.
Fans posted their concerns and criticisms on X with the majority blaming Aaron Rodgers. Check out some of the fan reactions from X:

WILD: The New York #Jets used ALL THREE OF THEIR TIMEOUTS in the 1st quarter due to miscommunications between Aaron Rodgers & co.

A disaster team right now. pic.twitter.com/bdEUhEVUZr
The common consensus amongst fans is that the Jets’ decision to part ways with Robert Saleh was premature and wrong. The team has gotten worse after he left, and despite the addition of Davante Adams to the offense, they are not better.
Whether the team’s struggles are due to roster changes hampering on-field chemistry or the adjustment to a new interim head coach remains unclear. However, if Aaron Rodgers & Co. don’t clean up their act soon, this season could be a lost cause for them.
