Four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers expressed that he’s taking it year by year, breaking the unknown surrounding his plans. The Californian is on one of the worst slumps of his career with the New York Jets, winning only three games through Week 12.
The Green gang brought Aaron Rodgers last year, a season cut short by an injury he suffered four plays into the first game. In 2024, the Jets started pretty well, but they eventually fell into winless streaks and offensive failures. The Jets found themselves without their head coach after a loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 and fired the general manager a week ago. Amid the same, the team’s longtime owner Woody Johnson was reportedly considering benching the 40-year-old quarterback for other options.
Aaron Rodgers broke his silence on the rumors and where to find him in the next year in a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. He highlighted there are multiple facets to his plans in the upcoming year.
I feel like I’ve been kind of year to year, & obviously last year getting hurt, my whole focus was trying to get back for the end of the season, & then getting back for this season. When you’re 40 going on 41, you know you’re obviously at the end of your career, so there’s a lot of things. If it’s the Jets, they have to want me to be here, & a new staff, new GM, they all have to want me to be with the Jets.

Rodgers also noted that his body is also an element in decision making the coming year. He admitted that he feels healthy right now and shall continue to play this year the way he wants to. He went on to add that a decision hasn’t been fixed and he remains unattached to anything at the moment.
Body wise I have to see how I’m feeling and if I want to sign up to go back to the grind & all that. I’m healthy now, so if I can stay healthy the rest of the year, and play the way I want to play, and everybody feels good about bringing me back, then there’s the decision there, and if not, there’s all the other options. At this point, I think I’m open to everything & attached to nothing, so that’s a good place to be.

Aaron Rodgers is unhappy with journalists pushing fake narratives to cover their backs
Aaron Rodgers was never a fan of media. He expressed his discontent for the same once again while chatting with Pat McAfee in his show. Rodgers condemned the media for putting up false stories and carving untrue narratives.

He expressed that many people in his circle spoke to the media which Rodgers found confusing. The former champion went on to add that media writing up false stories is ruining people’s lives.
I don’t believe that it’s in my inner circle they would spend any time talking to reporter about other people’s sh*t or trying to slam them or protect themselves. But unfortunately, this business has turned into a lot of cover your a*s, you know.
Aaron Rodgers added
Earlier in the season, Rodgers lambasted the media after a loss. The ex-Packers quarterback stated that the first step to rebuilding the team from a 2-5 record would be to stop listening to the reporters.
