Since the New York Jets officially announced the news of moving on from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers after a two-year disastrous stint, he has been a hot topic of discussion across the league, especially regarding his next landing spot. While a few teams have possessed prospects for him, Chase Daniel named the Los Angeles Rams as the perfect fit.

Prior to the hiring of Aaron Glenn, there was considerable speculation that the Jets might give the four-time NFL MVP another chance. Interestingly, new head coach Glenn was rumored to favor Rodgers, but the reality is quite contrasting. During an appearance on Fox Sports’ The Facility, former NFL star Daniel shared some harsh yet unsurprising news about Rodgers’ future in New York before the official announcement.

It turns out that every single candidate interviewed for the Jets’ head coaching position suggested it was time to part ways with the former Super Bowl champion, given his off-field media highlights and on-field performance decline. However, the Fox Sports analyst is among those still believing in the potential of the 41-year-old, particularly with the Rams.

My mind is like so if, ‘I’m him, I want to play.’ Okay! ‘Where do I go play?’… it’s like [the] Titans make a lot of sense, he has property in Tennessee. The Raiders make sense [but] you know the team to watch: LA Rams. He wants to get back out there in LA, I would not be surprised if he wants to play with Sean McVay. If they end up trading [Matthew] Stafford, McVay could give him [Rodgers] a year or two.

However, Rodgers’ odds of landing in Los Angeles depend upon the franchise’s decision to trade star Matthew Stafford, who is coming off a strong season with the divisional-round appearance of the playoffs.

Could Aaron Rodgers be headed for retirement or a new team?

As the NFL offseason approaches, all eyes will be on Rodgers and his next move. Since the idea of retirement has also been floating around, Fox Sports analyst Mark Schlereth believes it’s highly unlikely for the veteran quarterback to seek retirement because of the ugly stint with the Jets that anyway ended in his departure.

How does anybody remember anybody that spent with the Jets? It’s a clown show. There’s a quote I love. When a clowns into a palace, the clown does not become a king. The palace becomes a circus. Woody Johnson runs a circus.

Additionally, Schlereth affirmed that Rodgers will be remembered as one of the greatest quarterbacks in all of history, despite his humiliating two-year failure in New York, which is arguably counted among the worst NFL Trade deals in history.
