Aaron Rodgers entered Week 18 with a lot of talk surrounding him possibly playing the last NFL game of his career. If he does, it could also impact his close friend Davante Adams as the New York Jets will have rumors and debates taking center stage in the months to come about an absolute restructure.
In the game against the Miami Dolphins, the Jets had one task. Win the game and help themselves and their fans finish the season on a high. With that in mind, Aaron Rodgers did not start the game well as he threw a pass to Davante Adams on the very first play but was intercepted.
The situation worsened when they could not get close to scoring range in their next three drives. But then on their second drive in the second quarter, they scored off a Rodgers touchdown. That started their scoring spree as the 41-year-old threw another just before the half to help his Jets draw out a good lead.
A third quarter field goal helped stretch that lead as Rodgers continued to spray passes to all his receivers. By now, he had crossed into the 500 career passing touchdowns territory that adds to his illustrious Hall of Fame career.
His close friend Adams wanted to be a part of that history setting TD but could not. That changed in the fourth quarter when the two friends linked on a four-yard touchdown. That end zone connection helped cement their collaboration as the duo became part of NFL history.

They now have the third most TDs of any duo in the league. They trail the great Peyton Manning–Marvin Harrison and Steve Young–Jerry Rice. That takes the New York Jets teammates into legendary territory as one of the best ever.
Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams could have thrown away game early on
If this was the last game Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams played together, it is now in the history books. But it seems they were trying to get that connection going early and even resorted to a wild on-field improvisation that almost led to a disaster.

After Rodgers’ game opening interception, the Miami Dolphins put the first points on the board with a field goal. That meant, the pressure was on the home team to start scoring else they could end their season with another embarrassing loss.
Rodgers took the snap at around the eleven minute mark and tossed it to Adams on the end around. The wideout took a few more steps to the right to draw the defense and threw the ball back to his quarterback.

This would generally mean the 41-year-old had time in the world to survey the field and throw. Instead, it seemed that the Dolphins defense was not biting on the Jets earlier movements and immediately closed the QB down. This forced him to look to his right, and he threw the ball back to his wide receiver.
However, as soon as he caught the ball, Dolphins corner Jalen Ramsey delivered a pile driver to stop the drive. Thankfully for the Jets, the ball came out after Adams hit the ground. Else the Dolphins could have scored and painted the history setting QB-WR duo in a negative light.
