CJ Stroud has appeared quite recently in the news regarding his thoughts about various quarterbacks. Shortly after giving his list of top 5 quarterbacks which sparks much discussion, the reigning Rookie of the Year was asked whose career he would prefer having: Aaron Rodgers or Eli Manning. He bluntly chose the latter saying, “You want rings, dogs.”

However, the Houston Texans’ bold comment on Rodgers didn’t sit well with his former teammate James Jones. Highlighting the 10-time Pro Bowler accomplishment against Manning, FOX analyst Jones called Rodgers the “greatest QB” to ever grace football, in the recent appearance at The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

With all due respect to Eli Manning because I believe he was a good quarterback in our league, you cannot mention Aaron Rodgers' name in the same sentence you mention Eli Manning's name. They are not even close as players.
asserted James Jones

The sports analyst drew the comparison between the two-time Super Bowl champion and Rodgers, where even though the latter didn’t win as much Super Bowl as the former, his 10 Pro Bowls, 4 NFL MVPs, 5 All-Pros and 103.6 passer rating speak for themselves. He also said if Stroud had seen these stats he wouldn’t have chosen Manning

Aaron Rodgers aiming for 2024 comeback after injury setback

When Rodgers was initially traded to the New York Jets from the Green Bay Packers, it was one of the most flashy moves in the NFL as the quarterback had won multiple NFL MVP titles and a Super Bowl ring with the Packers. But he was looking forward to it as he had one thing in mind– to win more Super Bowl rings.

However, his debut season in New York went on a disastrous path when he suffered a torn Achilles injury in the first snap of the season and didn’t recover till the team’s elimination.

After recovering from a serious injury last season, the Pro Bowler QB is all charged up for the upcoming 2024 season. He has also claimed that he could win an MVP and lead the Jets to the Super Bowl.
