One of the most talked about stories is if Aaron Rodgers has played the final game of his illustrious Hall of Fame career. The 41-year-old was giving mixed signals for quite a while, but the dysfunction the New York Jets are in has compounding his worries.

His primary worry is if the Jets would want him back for another season. The franchise is in the hunt to find the right personnel to become their next GM and head coach. How they collectively decide on the future of the organization will matter.

Along with that, the dysfunction the New York Jets are in could suggest the owners could have a say in how their 2025-26 season pans out. With all these questions unanswered, Aaron Rodgers was asked at the post-game press conference if he would be open to play on another team next season.

I’ve done it once. Obviously, there is a lot of hypotheticals here. So, if I want to play, hypothetical no. 1. If they want to move on, hypothetical no. 2. Would I be willing to play another team, hypothetical no. 3. The answer is yes.

Going by the hypotheticals he threw up, if all three were to happen, he will be willing to sign and play for another team next season. That is only if he believes he wants to do that after he takes time away to rethink his career.

However, the hypothetical surrounding the New York Jets is out of his hand. Firstly, Woody Johnson will have to finish interviewing for his next GM and head coach. Then they will have to decide if they want the 41-year-old back.

Aaron Rodgers not sure if Jets want him back

That second hypothetical could weigh a lot in Aaron Rodgers finalizing the decision on his NFL career. He has mentioned time and before that he will wait to see if the Jets want him back. As this was their final game of the season, a reporter asked if the QB had any update on that matter.

I honestly don’t know. If I did, I don’t know that I’d tell you. But truthfully, I don’t know. I’m looking forward to those conversations with Woody, Christopher…… Either way I won’t be upset or offended, whatever they decided to do.

The superstar QB added that he was happy he could show the improvements towards the end of the season. If the New York Jets do let him know about their decision to continue, it will then be up to him to revert back to them if he wanted to continue playing.

All the hypotheticals mean football fans would have to wait and watch how things unfold. With an underwhelming QB draft class, the franchise could try this experiment one more time. But rumblings from withing the locker room suggests not everyone will be happy.
