Sometimes, when you have a lot of experience playing a sport professionally, you have a different perspective on what matters and why. Mike McCarthy once put it so eloquently, it all comes down to the results at the end of the postseason.
Aaron Rodgers is one of the best names in the country and he already has one ring with the Packers. The Jets brought him to quench their 13-year thirst for a postseason appearance. It looks like it was a wrong move as the Jets stay 4-10. The dream of Woody Johnson to see his Green and White in the playoffs will remain a dream for one more season for sure.
The Jets ended their four-game losing streak with a well-rounded performance on Sunday. The defense held firm in critical moments, the offensive line afforded Rodgers the time necessary to effectively navigate the Jaguars’ (3-11) defense and veteran wide receiver Davante Adams excelled with an impressive second-half display.
In a post-game availability for the fans, Rodgers admitted to being happy and content while celebrating their win. He led the Jets in the rushing attack with 45 yards on 6 carries. The veteran QB threw 16 of 30 for 289 years and three passing touchdowns.
The 41-year-old confessed that he feels blessed to be allowed to showcase his resilience after a nasty hit last year, which put him out of the field for an entire season.
Aaron Rodgers showers praise on Davante Adams post Week 15 game
Rodgers didn’t hold back his admiration for Davante Adams following their team’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Green & White overcame a slow start to claim a hard-fought win, steered by an explosive second-half performance.
What stood out was the rekindled connection between Rodgers and Adams, which took center stage after a quiet first half. Adams, held without a single catch in the first 30 minutes, came alive in the second half, amassing 9 receptions for 198 yards and two touchdowns. His incredible output not only pumped life back into the team, but also played a pivotal role in securing the comeback victory.
Rodgers also admitted using a blackmailing sort of tool to revive the spirit which led to an electric performance in the following minutes.
All said and done, it is currently unsure where one will see Rodgers in the next season or whether this season is the end of him. Rodgers and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich have both shown interest in the decision, though with certain clarifications.
