Every year, the same scenario repeats. Some teams want quarterbacks, whereas some move on from who they have. Aaron Rodgers is one such veteran QB who is now without a job. The New York Jets may have moved on from him, but he still commands interest from other teams.

A look at the draft board and it is glaringly evident that out of the top seven teams picking in this year’s NFL Draft, four or five are in need of a quarterback. However, only two QB prospects are good enough to be considered worthy of such high picks.

Even then, not many executives are high on those very prospects. Which means the focus shifts on towards veteran free agent quarterbacks. With that in mind, ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter provided this update.

With Matthew Stafford remaining with the Rams, the New York Giants are investigating all veteran quarterback options…..including Aaron Rodgers, per sources.

Adam Schefter wrote

The New York Giants as well as the Las Vegas Raiders were looking at trading for Matthew Stafford. But earlier today, that idea went up in smoke after the 37-year-old Super Bowl champion decided to stay with the Los Angeles Rams.

This brings Aaron Rodgers back to the forefront. He might be 41 years old, but it still a four-time league MVP who once was considered the best QB in the league. That alone can be tantalizing for those QB needy teams.

They might as well hand him the reins for another year or two while they draft a quarterback they like. For the likes of the Giants, it makes more sense considering what options they have in the NFL Draft. But fans are not so sure.

Fans lose their minds on Giants interest in Aaron Rodgers

As per football fans, the New York Giants seem to have conveniently forgotten how Aaron Rodgers performed last season. Half of those games were at the very same MetLife Stadium the Giants share with the New York Jets. Therefore, it dumbfounded them how the team ignored all those red flags.

Fans believe the Giants are better off drafting Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, just as their offseason plan has been so far. According to them, placing their chips on Rodgers is a disaster waiting to happen. Check out examples of those comments below.

There is a logic on why the New York Giants might believe Aaron Rodgers is a good bridge QB. For one, last season he was just coming out of his Achilles tear. Secondly, the play calling and overall coaching at the New York Jets was embarrassingly bad.

Those around the league regard Giants HC Brian Daboll as a brilliant play caller. If he gets a usually accurate Aaron Rodgers as QB, he could turn the ship around. A new system, but in the same city he just spent two years living may not be a bad idea for Rodgers too.
