Aaron Rodgers suffered his first injury after the devastating Achilles tendon tear he suffered during his debut game for the New York Jets. Thankfully, this time it is not as serious as initially believed.
Considering he is all of 41 years old, many feared the quarterback would be forced to sit out for a few weeks until the small fracture in his right wrist heals.
After further testing, it became clear that he did not need to undergo surgery. Once he was made aware of that, Rodgers felt he should make the trip alongside his teammates and play against the Chicago Bears.
The Pittsburgh Steelers had no clear opinion on this, even though they might prefer the oldest player in the league to take it easy. But it seems the 4-time league MVP wants to suit up.
I’m trying to get back on the field tomorrow and see what I can do.
Aaron Rodgers told reporters
While speaking to the media inside the Steelers’ locker room, the California native added that he and the team are looking into procuring a particular brace that can help him.

Aaron Rodgers is focused on safety, as he does not want to do anything that would aggravate the injury. These statements indicate that the QB would try his best to play against the Bears come Sunday, even if he continues to struggle with some pain.
Aaron Rodgers still will defer to Mike Tomlin to decide whether he plays
Aaron Rodgers seems to be intent on at least trying out in practice and seeing how it goes with his wrist. Hearing those comments, The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo asked the superstar if the decision to play would be taken on game day or if there would be a clear answer in the next few days.

I’m going to leave that up to Mr. Coach Tomlin.
Aaron Rodgers answered
Before this practice session, head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned that he and the medical staff were going to evaluate his starting quarterback’s injury and see how it goes.
The 53-year-old did restrict Rodgers from taking part in practice before these interviews. Reporters noticed that backups Mason Rudolph and Will Howard practiced and shared reps with the starters.

That explains why Rodgers felt it was Tomlin’s decision after all. He might want to play and help his team continue marching towards possibly a 1st round bye.
Still, there is an inherent risk, as an unfortunate touch or hit can make matters worse and force the signal caller to miss their crucial Week 13 and 14 battles against conference playoff rivals.
Aaron Rodgers still finds motivation to battle against Bears
If Aaron Rodgers indeed gets Mike Tomlin’s blessings, he would be going up against the Chicago Bears fans who used to give him the stick when he was with their arch rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
Keeping that in mind, ESPN’s Brooke Pryor asked the Super Bowl champion quarterback if he still finds incentives in facing the Bears.
There’s an incentive for every opponent, but I have enjoyed many a Sunday and Monday, and Thursdays in that city. It’s a great sports town, phenomenal sports fans, great place to play.
Aaron Rodgers replied
He reiterated how he was responsible for tilting the bragging rights towards Green Bay. Therefore, he might get some stick from Bears fans even though he is on a different team.
Any extra incentive for Aaron Rodgers to play this weekend given then opponent — the Chicago Bears?

Despite that, he believes Chicago is a fabulous sports town, and he has enjoyed his time there whenever he has had the chance. Rodgers praised the fans and claimed they deserve all the success.
