Ever since Aaron Rodgers came in last season to join the New York Jets, questions have been asked about his relationship with head coach Robert Saleh. As no definite answer came out, everyone was trying to piece together what they could gather from their interactions and responses to each other’s comments. But in the Thursday Night game against the Patriots, a video has brought up new questions about the state of the Jets’ team dynamics.

After throwing a touchdown to Allen Lazard in the first quarter, Rodgers jogged back to their sideline. When his head coach tried to give him a hug for that score, the reaction from the four-time league MVP raised eyebrows.

Rodgers put both his hands on Robert Saleh‘s chest and pushed him away while mouthing something. He continued his stern gaze at his head coach as he walked off to the bench. That is certainly not the general reaction one would have towards the other if there is mutual respect if not love.

This happens to be the latest evidence questioning the harmony within the New York Jets. No one knows as of now how the two really feel about each other. In some instances, the footballing world felt Rodgers was running the show. The alleged power struggle was even more evident when Rodgers got a free pass for missing mandatory minicamp.

Even then, Robert Saleh has tried to keep his team together. But if this video is an indication of what that could be, this could end up being a distraction for the Jets in their quest for a Super Bowl. Both Rodgers and his head coach need to be on the same page.

Aaron Rodgers scores first home touchdown as a Jet

This happens to be Aaron Rodgers‘ fourth official game in across two seasons as of now as a member of the New York Jets. Playing against the New England Patriots at home, Rodgers knew the opposition defense wanted to establish their impact early on. But he has seen all this throughout his career and calmly drove his team down to Patriots 10-yard-line.

On the first-and-goal play, he threw it left towards Allen Lazard, who slipped past one defender and pounded into the end zone. That was Rodgers’ first home touchdown of his Jets career. Lazard remembered the significance of it and also ensured the touchdown ball went to Rodgers.

His entire offensive team gathered around to congratulate him. The team knows what it means to the Super Bowl champion. The reaction from his teammates suggests all is well between them. But at the top, the New York Jets might have a problem on their hands.
