There’s no denying that Aaron Rodgers is aiming for a solid comeback next season with the New York Jets after recovering from his Achilles injury. However, rumors have started swirling around the league that the star quarterback might be shopping for a new jersey if things don’t work out with the Jets.
As Rodgers entered his 20th season in the league, the road to retirement seemed closer than the Super Bowl. And as he spent most of his career fiercely competing against the seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, he desires to take his team to new heights before retirement– just like how Brady did in Tampa Bay before retiring in 2023.
And if that team didn’t turn out to be the Jets, the 10-time Pro Bowler may move to a Florida-based team. NFL analyst Mike Florio dropped a major revelation that Rodgers might join the Miami Dolphins if he failed to find success in New York, during Friday’s edition of “Pro Football Talk.”
There's a reason Kyle Shanahan wanted Kirk Cousins every year ... Mike McNeil came from that offense. Maybe Cousins would be better, maybe Dak. ... Hey, if the Jets stink and Aaron Rodgers gets washed out along with everybody else, he's technically going to be available.Mike Florio said.
Rodgers surely desires to end his NFL career with another Super Bowl as he is chasing the legacy of the NFL GOAT and his other peers such as Peyton Manning, who has a unique distinction with the Super Bowl rings.
Aaron Rodgers seeks historic feat with the Jets
After missing almost the entire 2023 season, the former NFL MVP is aiming high for the upcoming season while having six primetime games. Last season he failed the execute his offensive strategy in leading the Jets to glory because of injury, but this time he’s all prepared with strong additions to the offense.
If Rodgers succeeds in winning the Super Bowl with the Jets, he will become the third quarterback in NFL history to win the Super Bowl with two different teams- a feat that his mentor Brett Favre failed to do.
However, the critics believe Rodgers is lagging behind Favre’s legacy after missing last season. But if he clinched a playoff berth and led the team to the Super Bowl in the coming season, Rodgers will surpass his mentor’s legacy.
