For the better part of two months, Pittsburgh Steelers fans were teased about the possibility of Aaron Rodgers joining the franchise. After the initial rumors had died down, there was long-term media silence, which led many to believe that Rodgers’ interest in joining Pittsburgh had waned.
However, Mike Tomlin kept his patience and belief in Aaron Rodgers intact. A couple of days back, it was confirmed that the four-time NFL MVP will be signing with the Steelers shortly. Ever since this news emerged, things have been moving quickly.
Aaron Rodgers was spotted at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, the training facility of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran was seen wearing a sweatshirt, a pair of shorts, and walking to the facility with his shades on and wired earphones in his ears. He was likely in Pittsburgh for his physical.

Notable analyst Ian Rapoport had reported that Rodgers had passed his physical and signed a one-year deal with the team. As per his knowledge, Pittsburgh offered him a 1-year deal, with a maximum of $19.5 million to be earned, a base salary of $13.65 million, and $10 million in guaranteed money.
This deal is interesting because, for the second consecutive year, Mike Tomlin has managed to sign a good veteran quarterback at a fraction of his actual value. Despite being 41, Rodgers can still ball. It is exciting to see how he steps up and how far he can take the Steelers in the postseason.
Aaron Rodgers improves the Pittsburgh Steelers’ odds of making the Super Bowl
The image taken of Rodgers and Rapoport’s report shortly after confirms that the quarterback was in Pittsburgh to complete his physical and ink the deal. Since it is a one-year deal, the odds of this being Rodgers’ final year are sky-high. The storylines are interesting because the only Super Bowl that the quarterback won came after beating Tomlin and his Steelers.

Now, the two have united, although 15 years later, but it will be interesting to watch nevertheless. Following the news of Rodgers signing with Pittsburgh, the team’s odds for the season witnessed improvement. FOX Sports reported their odds of winning the AFC North were +550, and Odds to win the Super Bowl stood at +4000.
The Steelers have a 2.4% chance of winning the championship. This has been in the works for a long time. Since the initial news broke of Rodgers’ interest in the Steelers, the quarterback visited the team’s facility twice. His first visit lasted a little over four hours, whereas his second visit was masked well.
The value of his deal is not surprising either. Pittsburgh was open to giving him an opportunity by surrounding him with enough talent to do his job, however, they were not willing to break the bank on him, considering his recent disaster with the Jets.
Financially, Rodgers has earned well throughout his career. Which is why this year, the quarterback is focused on changing the narrative around him and ending his fruitful NFL career on a high note. Funnily enough, the mansion which he intends to reside in near Acrisure Stadium costs $30 million, which is more than the value of his deal!
The new residence includes amenities such as a par-3 golf course, a swimming pool, a pool house, and a horse stable. The only question now is if the quarterback intends to move in by himself or if his rumored partner will join him in the move to Pittsburgh.
