Aaron Rodgers is one of the few who get opportunities to respond to their critics or deserters the way they want. Against his former team, the New York Jets, he received another such opportunity.
The Jets invested two seasons on the four-time league MVP, and received nothing more than a lot of media coverage and a disappointing season out of him.
Many were quick to blame the 41-year-old for the mess, even though he has tried to fight off such suggestions in the past. It could be that his very character is such that everyone tends to blame him for all the problems.
The NFL is in the entertainment business, and what better way to give fans some more than to ensure Rodgers gets to face his former teammates and fans when the Pittsburgh Steelers clashed with them at MetLife Stadium.
After all, the New Jersey-based franchise, and particularly new head coach Aaron Glenn, did not want the veteran QB to be at the reins. After the game, when asked if this statement was true, Aaron Rodgers agreed. Then reporters asked him if this win was vindication against Glenn, the QB replied:
I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets.
Aaron Rodgers replied
He did not want to directly attack Glenn, but his sly smile at the end suggested this 34-32 win was more of a victory for the Super Bowl-winning QB over the entire Jets franchise than just its new head coach.
Aaron Rodgers says it was satisfying to beat the Jets given how his exit from the team went down:

It seems Rodgers still has lingering resentment after the way the Jets seemingly painted him as the cause of their abysmal record last season. That was evident in the way the fans greeted their former QB.
Jets fans booed Aaron Rodgers upon his return to MetLife Stadium
When Aaron Rodgers returned to MetLife Stadium as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was greeted by a couple of members of the New York Jets staff.
The fans, however, did not have a similar reaction. When he took to the field to start the second drive of the game, Gang Green booed the Chino, California, native as he jogged on the gridiron.
Those boos indicate that the home fans still blame the recently married Rodgers for their disappointing run these past few years. After all the investment the franchise made in him, the return has pegged them back to being the team with one of the worst losing records in history.

Fans had hoped that he would lead them to glory. But the failure to make it to the playoffs was the final nail in the coffin of that experiment. However, Aaron Rodgers does not believe it was his fault.
Aaron Rodgers reminds Jets he is still capable of playing football
Aaron Rodgers knows that people will always go after him for the mistakes of others. At least, that is what he believes the New York Jets expressed when they parted ways with him. Therefore, it was nice to remind them.

It was nice to win. Especially, you know, hearing some of the cat calls out there, and the boo birds… There were probably people in the organization that didn’t think I could play anymore, so it was nice to remind those people that I still can.
Aaron Rodgers said at the post-game press conference
The now Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback had a stellar debut, posting 244 yards and 4 touchdowns, while finishing with an impressive 136.7 passer rating. With that performance, he believes the booing fans, trash talkers should know he can still play the quarterback position.

Moreover, it was a reply to Aaron Glenn and the Jets organization that they were wrong to dispose him off when he can still be one of the better players at his position.
