When Aaron Rodgers was part of the New York Jets, he was bugged by people leaking alleged falsified information from within the facility. This allegedly caused a rift between Rodgers and former Jets first-round draftee Zach Wilson.

Wilson never voiced any complaints, but Rodgers stepped up by publicly calling out the snitches. The narrative was already stacked against the veteran Super Bowl champion, and it didn’t take long for the media to cast him as the villain. He became the fall guy for everything bad with the Gang Green, including the firing of Robert Saleh.

Right now, Rodgers is leading a very different life in Pittsburgh. Steelers fans never miss a chance to talk about how lucky they are to watch a future Hall of Famer suit up for their team. Why wouldn’t they? The Steelers won the AFC North after a long gap and are making preparations for a big showdown against the Houston Texans in the wildcard round.

That doesn’t mean the Steelers had a free rein in the division. They overcame their fair share of struggles and had to wait until the final week of the regular season to lock down the divisional crown and a playoff spot. Sure, Rodgers and Mike Tomlin faced plenty of criticism, and some even called for his removal as head coach, but unlike the Jets, there were no leaks from within the organization.

One of the things I love [about the Steelers], and this is kinda the antithesis of where I was, there’s not really any leaks in the boat. Every year you have difficulties and adversity, both on the field and off the field, and to go through a season like this and be able to focus on football and not have a lot of other little (expletive) out there has been really nice.

Rodgers and the Jets didn’t have an amicable ending either. The new management cut him as he wasn’t part of the vision they had planned to implement. Sadly, for the Jets fans, their team regressed in 2025, finishing last in the AFC East with a 3-14 record. It extended the Jets’ playoff drought to 15 years.

Aaron Rodgers has stern words for those who wanted the Steelers to fire Mike Tomlin

Nothing is permanent in football. Dynasties come and go, and so do head coaches. It’s a business that believes in the motto, “What have you done for me lately?”

Tomlin reached a personal milestone after the Steelers won their ninth game of the campaign. It kept his streak alive of never ending a season with a losing record as the Steelers’ head coach. Despite his decorated CV, which includes a Super Bowl victory, fans wanted the owners to fire him and appoint a fresh face.

Tomlin may be a regular-season wizard, but his recent postseason numbers haven’t been great. The Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 divisional playoff game.

However, firing Tomlin at this time would not be a wise move. He commands respect from his players, a quality that many coaches struggle to achieve. More importantly, he has the support of Rodgers, who chose to play for the Steelers because of Tomlin.

They’ve gotta try to find something to get after him. Mike T’s probably like me. Doesn’t give a whole lot of s*** about any of those comments. But it is nice because we all love him and want to play for him and want to win for him.

Aaron Rodgers said (H/T: NFL Network)

Rodgers’ future is still uncertain. The wildcard fixture could easily turn out to be his final game in the NFL if the Steelers lose. The opposite could also happen. He might be inclined to return for the 2026 season and mentor Will Howard before handing him the QB1 role.
