Aaron Rodgers reportedly “was good” with Jets’ decision to rule his minicamp absence as unexcused
Rodgers took part in both offseason training drills and sessions leading up to the mandatory mini camp, which he missed without revealing the reason.

Unexcused absence means that the individual failed to explain not being present. Plenty of people take advantage of the process, but when someone like Aaron Rodgers does it, that becomes a front-page headline.
By now, every football fan knows that Rodgers missed the New York Jets mandatory mini-camp last week. Jets reporter Connor Hughes said that even though the veteran quarterback trained with his teammates on phases 1, 2, and 3 of the offseason training sessions, he remained absent from the three-day camp for undisclosed reasons.
Head coach Robert Saleh tried his best to prevent the news from becoming a national issue, but he was too late. Several analysts, who always look for dirt on Rodgers, quickly caught on and started blaming the Super Bowl winner. They branded him as a narcissist and egotistic individual who abandoned his team.
Despite the best efforts of Jets corner Sauce Gardner and center Joe Tippmann, the situation has escalated to a point where only Rodgers’ words can help find a resolution. In the meantime, Saleh revealed that the 40-year-old who recently recovered from a torn Achilles has kept in touch with him and has no qualms about calling his absence unexcused.
NFL insider claims Aaron Rodgers was okay with the decision to make his absence unexcused
NFL Network’s Albert Breer did some digging and discovered that the Jets and Rodgers spoke before his absence from the minicamp. According to Breer, Rodgers was fine with the Jets calling his absence unexcused.
I could ascertain [was] how the Jets and Rodgers reached an understanding of the “one team, one set of rules” logic to not excusing his leave. [Aaron] Rodgers, I’m told, was good with it.Albert Breer wrote for SI
Saleh added even more defense to shield Rodgers. He said the four-time NFL MVP is the same as he was when he first came to East Rutherford New Jersey a year ago. Since then, he has only dedicated himself to helping his teammates grow.
He has taken those young quarterbacks under his wing and the way he's helped even Tyrod Taylor along, he’s phenomenal in that regard. Him being here, attacking the offseason, and doing everything that we’ve asked has been fantastic.Robert Saleh said
"Aaron and I are on the exact same page. There's no issue between Aaron or his teammates, for that matter. We addressed it yesterday. It's more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is inside."

Neither Rodgers nor Saleh provided any timeline regarding when will the signal caller rejoin the squad. It’s almost the end of June and like every other NFL team, the Jets will fly off to their training camp in July. So, Rodgers should be back by then.
