Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter is considered one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. He delivered an outstanding performance during the 2024 college football season, recording 68 total tackles, 12 sacks, four passes defended, and two forced fumbles.
Carter is projected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming draft. Several mock drafts and insiders put Tennessee Titans drafting Carter as the first overall over popular options like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.
In the past few days, there has been a cold theory running around. As per the speculation, Carter might deliberately lower his draft stock to join the Philadelphia Eagles, a team he supports. Carter denied these claims, stating that he remains committed to his professional career.
Eagles fans, I’m sorry but I’m not tanking my stock.

He also admitted that his fandom also has to die out unfortunately when he joins a new team. Nevertheless, there remains a possibility that he could join Philadelphia later in his career, similar to running back Saquon Barkley, but he is unlikely to be drafted by them.
During his time at Penn State, Carter played a crucial role in helping the team reach the semifinals of the College Football Playoff. The team fell short against Notre Dame, ending their championship run. He concluded his collegiate career with 173 total tackles, 23 sacks, five forced fumbles, one interception, and 13 passes defended.
Carter will have the opportunity to showcase his skills at Penn State’s Pro Day on March 28. He did not participate in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine but plans to run at his Pro Day. The 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place from April 24 to April 26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Abdul Carter has mind set on No. 1 pick with the Titans
Currently, Abdul Carter will not be participating in workouts for NFL teams this week due to a shoulder injury, which he estimates is approximately 90 percent healed. Despite this, he remains a prominent prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, having recorded an impressive 12.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss for the Nittany Lions last season.

Carter admitted being aspired to become the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft. He also attributed it to his hometown.
I feel like it’s very realistic. I feel like I’m the best player in the country. The best player should be selected No. 1.
Abdul Carter said Wednesday at the NFL Scouting Combine
Carter stated that he began his interviews with NFL teams amidst the Combine week, including a meeting with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. He also met with key decision-makers from the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
With almost a month and half to go, the teams are in full swing to identify the areas where they need more soldering and make their rosters better for the next year.
