Abhishek Sharma has taken the cricketing world by storm right from the time when he made his debut for India in T20Is. He was coming to international cricket on the back of a sensational 2024 IPL season. There he smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground for Sunrisers Hyderabad and impressed everyone with his ball striking. The southpaw carried his form to international cricket and scored a century on debut.
From then, he did not look backwards. In the fifth and final T20I of the series between India and England, he demolished the English bowlers at the Wankhede Stadium and put on a show for everyone to enjoy.
He attacked the likes of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood right from the onset and scored the second-fastest century in T20I cricket. The Southpaw achieved this feat in 37 deliveries. He scored 135 runs off 54 balls with the help of seven boundaries and 13 sixes. Sharma opened up about the competition with the other Indian openers, with the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.
I had met Jassu [Jaiswal] and Shubman yesterday [at the BCCI awards]. There has never been a competition among us – we are playing together since Under-16. There was just one dream – to play for India. The three of us are playing now, so there is no better feeling.

Jos Buttler heaped praise on Abhishek Sharma’s innings
Everyone present on the Wankhede ground was enthralled by the type of innings from the Southpaw and the wide range of shots that he put on display. The England captain, Jos Buttler, had no clue what to do, and even he was impressed with the way with which Sharma batted in Mumbai.

Buttler stated that they were definitely disappointed with the 4-1 loss in the series. However, he went on to praise Sharma and revealed that it was one of the best ball striking that he has ever seen which led to a major rise in his odds. For the same, the 1xbet promo code for Bangladesh was one of the talking points in the betting world. The English captain pondered that they should have come out with a better plan to stop the onslaught from the southpaw.
Credit to Abhishek Sharma, I thought that’s as clean a ball striking as I’ve seen, I thought he played fantastically well. We always sit down and think what more could we have done or how we could have stopped him, but some days I think you have to give a lot of credit to the opposition, I thought he played brilliantly well.

Sharma meanwhile stated that he was in flow and in his zone. He said that he was just keeping on hitting without looking at the score. The southpaw also talked about the advice that the captain Suryakumar Yadav gave him, which helped him to amass his highest score in international cricket.
