“Absolute Trash”- Ex Colt Jeff Saturday unleashes fiery rant about Sunday’s abysmal performance

The Indianapolis Colts were in the AFC playoff picture going into week 18. Sitting at 9-7 all they had to do to clinch a spot was beat the 2-14 Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars’ record truly reflected their level of play throughout the season and as such, the Colts came in as the heavy favorites and looked set to clinch a wild card spot and their 3rd playoff appearance in 4 years under Frank Reich.
What happened on Sunday was possibly the most unexpected result of the season. The Jaguars pulled off the massive upset and took a 26-11 victory. A potential playoff team could not even compete let alone win against a team playing for absolutely nothing. Anyone invested in the Colts was absolutely blown away and disgusted by the result. Former Colts center and super bowl XLI winner Jeff Saturday was among the people tuned in to the game and on an appearance Get Up, he absolutely laid into the Colts for their performance.
Jeff Saturday rips apart Colts
When asked to describe an awful moment from week 18, Saturday immediately went into the Colts. He described the performance as “absolute trash” and “the most awful thing from the whole season.” Another quote that quite hilariously sums up his emotions: “I don’t even have high blood pressure and I was looking for high blood pressure pills, I was that pissed off watching that game.” It’s safe to say that Saturday did not enjoy his afternoon and rightly so because the performance truly was awful.
Carson Wentz was 17/29 for 185 yards a touchdown and an interception. Their star running back Jonathan Taylor managed 77 yards on 15 carries so his performance was at least decent but not enough considering the quality of the opponent. On the other side of the ball, the defense allowed Trevor Lawerence to throw for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns. By the start of the 4th quarter, Indy was already down by 20 and the game was well and truly over. They did manage the one touchdown but nothing more after.
