Adam Cole and Britt Baker were one of AEW’s most famous couples. They had been together since before the company was even formed when they met on a dating app in 2017. While recovering from his ankle injury over the summer, the former ROH Champion revealed on his stream that he was moving back to his home state of Pennsylvania. This sparked the online rumor mill about their current relationship status, and fans have finally gotten confirmation straight from the horse’s mouth.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Cole confirmed his split with Baker. He clarified that they were still friends and would support each other no matter what. There was no hatred between them after the split, and the Panama City Playboy did not want fans to pick sides. He still held the former AEW Women’s Champion in high regard and wished her nothing but the best for her career.

Baker also seemingly reacted to Cole’s statement about their break-up. She posted a red heart on her X account without any context. Presumably, this was a reaction to all the heartwarming and supportive messages that she was receiving from her fans or towards the former NXT Champion himself. She has not been seen on AEW programming since her match against Mercedes Mone at AEW All In. This absence likely stems from her backstage confrontation with MJF.

Their relationship was even used in AEW storylines multiple times. They had even teamed up in an inter-gender tag team match against Chris Jericho and Saraya. The two superstars were also prominently featured in AEW: All Access, a backstage reality series. Lastly, they even had a ton of achievements under their belts across various companies. Cole and Britt Baker won the men’s and women’s section of the inaugural Owen Hart Cup respectively.

MJF blames Adam Cole for toxicity on social media

Wrestlers having to go through a lot of negativity on social media is unfortunate but nothing new. MJF recently spoke out against X, which he claimed had become the most negative app on the internet. He claimed that these issues stemmed from a man who had separated the public and forced them to pick sides, Adam Cole. The 35-year-old has not responded to this statement.

The former ROH Tag Team Champions were part of AEW’s most popular over the summer of 2023. They had an incredible match on Dynamite and cut intense promos against each other. MJF and Cole were then forcibly put together into a tag team for a #1 contender’s tournament for the AEW Tag Team Championship.

Over the next few months, they grew closer together and had a somewhat friendly match for the AEW World Championship in the main event of AEW All In 2023. The 3x ROH Champion would eventually betray MJF after he was revealed to be AEW’s devil at Worlds End. These two superstars are still currently involved in a feud.
