The live s*x celebration between Adam Copeland, formerly Edge, and Lita is one of the most infamous and even controversial segments of all time. Many thought that it was another one of Vince McMahon’s weird ideas. However, that was not the case.
Speaking on Up Close, Copeland was asked about the uncomfortable situations he was in during his tenure in WWE, particularly referring to the live s*x celebration with Lita. He said that he was told about the segment the night he won the title and was confused by what it meant.
Copeland clarified that it wasn’t Vince McMahon who brought the pitch to him. He didn’t even think that it was his idea in the first place. However, he was the boss who signed and approved it and, thus, was assumably fine with it. To be fair, it wasn’t wrong of fans to think that this came out of Vinnie Mac’s head. In fact, the former WWE Chairman even claimed to have a third brain that thinks about s*x.

Copeland thought that he had finally won the world title. This is what he wanted to accomplish in his career. Now that the company had trusted him with it, it was his job to suck up and do whatever was asked of him. However, he did dread the consequences, such as his kids finding out about it one day. He always justified it to himself by comparing it to a s*x scene in an action movie.
Adam Copeland speaks about his name being changed to Cope
Adam Copeland recently made his return to AEW at Worlds End 2024. He had been out with an injury for months after jumping off a cage. However, there was something very notably different about him after his return. The wrestling veteran had changed his name to ‘Cope.’
During the same interview with Up Close, Adam Copeland said that he had changed his name after switching to AEW. Now, he just wanted to get ‘Cope’ over. As the 2x Royal Rumble winner said, it looked s*xier on a marquee. He just hoped that it stuck with the fans.
Although many still made fun of his name, at least Cope is now fully healthy and back in action. The Rated R Superstar had fractured his leg against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing. He had to spend over six months recovering, but the 51-year-old is finally medically cleared to compete. Furthermore, he may be entering a feud against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship.
