Canadian golfer Adam Hadwin has come under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. During the Valspar Championship, he lost his cool and smashed his golf club in frustration. While doing so, he set off a sprinkler. This action of him has not sat down with the fans on social media.

The incident took place in the second round of the competition on Friday. At the par-4 10th hole, Hadwin sent his third shoot into the rough from around 44 yards out.

He was visibly left disappointed with his shot. As he walked towards the greenside bunker for his fourth shot, he was frustrated with himself.

While walking towards his ball, he vented out some of his angry by smashing his golf club on the greens. In his anger, he accidentally set off the sprinklers on the field as he slammed his club with both hands. He would try to stop the water by tapping his foot on the sprinkler. When that did not work, he tapped the sprinkler head with his club and hoped that it would work.

Eventually, the sprinkler was turned off. As for Hadwin, he ended up two-putting for a double bogey after escaping the bunker on this hole. He eventually the day with another double bogey on the 16th hole and missed the cut after finishing 5-over par for the round.

Golfers losing their cool and throwing away their clubs has become a common trend in the past few months. These antics have not impressed the fans, who have urged for stricter penalties for such actions. Adam Hadwin become the latest name who came under fire for losing his cool.

Taking to their X accounts, several users claimed that he should be disqualified from the Tour. While there were some who found this incident funny, many slammed him for his actions. One user on X blasted him and wrote, “That’s ridiculous behavior“.

The big question now is, Will Hadwin get fined for this action? The PGA Tour has a record of dishing out penalties to players for on-course meltdowns. However, these fines are usually not disclosed, leaving fans wondering how much a player gets fined for such actions.

Speaking of Hadwin, this is now the 4th time this year he has missed the cut. In the 8 events before this tournament, he had made 5 cuts and missed playing on the weekend on three occasions including The Players Championship last week.

While a majority of the fans did not like Adam Hadwin’s meltdown during the second round of the Valspar Championship, there were some who found it funny. Among them were former LPGA star Paige Spiranac and fellow PGA Tour pro Michael Kim.

Spiranac, the golf influencer took to her X account to share her thoughts regarding this. While quoting the tweet, she hilariously claimed that the golf course was “fighting back” after all the club throws this week.

Apart from Hadwin, Sahith Theegala and Patton Kizzize were under fire from the fans for their behavior. While Theegala had tossed his club away, Kizzize decided to punt his putter in frustration. He would later withdraw from the event after carding a score of 76 while citing back issues. Meanwhile, Theegala made the cut.

As for Michael Kim, he simply claimed that he now understands why his ball spun so much back on the 10th hole.

Unlike Hadwin, Kim is playing this weekend after missing the cut at The Players Championship last week. Following a score of 1-under par in the third round, he sits at 1-over par for the tournament in the 49th position.
