For the first time since Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre appeared on this week’s episode of Raw. Initially calm about the situation, McIntyre spoke with Raw GM Adam Pearce in the ring. The latter promised to give The Scottish Warrior what he wanted: CM Punk. However, Pearce ordered McIntyre to apologize to the referees he ambushed at the post-show. And well, the former WWE Champion didn’t take this too kindly.
McIntyre felt it was hypocritical that he was punished severely while Punk escaped any consequences. Moreover, he lashed out at Pearce’s incompetence by claiming that he didn’t do anything to stop The Second City Saint. The Scot demanded that he get what he came for, and that is a match against Punk at SummerSlam. Before he could walk away, Adam Pearce told Drew that his suspension wouldn’t be lifted if he didn’t apologize.

Enraged by this, the former 3MB member pushed both referees down before staring down at the general manager. As such, Seth Rollins came out to make the save as he laid a beatdown on his former rival. McIntyre shoved away security officials as he furiously walked back. Thus, it seems that fans might have to wait a bit longer for the much-anticipated bout.
CM Punk was absent from last night’s tapings after Pearce specifically asked him not to come. Interestingly, Rollins made the save as he continues to be involved in the heated feud. With that said, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of the storyline and how it will play out at SummerSlam.
Update on whether Seth Rollins will be involved in the CM Punk-Drew McIntyre match at SummerSlam
Despite The Second City Saint’s injury, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have managed to keep the momentum of their rivalry flowing through their promos and social media antics. Therefore, many fans were expecting Punk and McIntyre to finally collide in the ring at SummerSlam. Over the past couple of weeks, however, there has been confusion among the WWE Universe.

Seth Rollins, who has his own issues with Punk, has seemingly been inserted into the rivalry. This has led fans to believe that all three men will compete in a triple-threat bout at The Biggest Party of the Summer. In light of that, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio revealed that the planned match is the one-on-one between Punk and McIntyre.
Provided that the Best in the World is cleared to compete, the anticipated bout should take place at SummerSlam. As for Rollins, he will have to wait to get his hands on the two-time Money in the Bank winner. Last week, The Architect vowed to avenge his loss once Punk recovered fully from injury.
